VSSL First Aid

If your survival depends on this product you are as dead as that pidgeon I saw run into a window at full speed the other day. You MIGHT survive, but is surviving only to experience a painful death as someone takes a selfie with you the goal here? Should we aspire to something greater?Like Nutella.That's a survival we can all live with.Moving onto this device, it seems to be ruggedly built. I will say that the logo design seemed rough and unfinished, and the compass was very loose in its housing. Changing the battery will only lead to rampant suicide as it is nearly impossible not to cross thread the backing that covers the batteries.The LEDs are fantastic for burning a hole directly through your retnas, especially when you wife keeps "accidentally" pressing it in your direction. I have this in my car, because it looks cool and will tell would be baddies that I am like Bear Gryllis and not to be messed with. Minus the survival ability and drinking of ones own urine of course.

Nicely packaged and makes a great gift for the right person who appreciates such things. Super high quality construction and feels great in the hand. Make sure the compass works properly though. I had to return one with a sticky compass.

Great Looking but not well made

I love these things! The first aid stuff inside is just a perk as I plan to re-fill it with other items. They're perfect for emergency storage for your car, hiking/camping, keeping in the house, whatever you need.They have plenty of storage space inside. VSSL also sells small kits that fit in little tins inside the VSSL, things like first aid, fishing kit, candle, etc.The flashlight is nice and bright, plenty bright to use as a sort of lantern inside your house/tent pointing it at the ceiling. And it comes with a decent compass on the bottom of the VSSL (which I didn't realize it had until I ordered it). It really is a smart idea. It's no larger than the old school D cell flashlights (maybe about the size of a pringles can), but with the technology of LED, all of that is hollowed out and you can fill it with whatever you need.The first aid kit comes with all of the essentials (you can see what it comes with in the stock photo).Highly recommended buy!
