Very sturdy and works well. Not to heavy. It does take a little bit of getting use to in order to spin yarn. Great for a beginner spindle.

This spindle is light weight and perfect size. It is a beautiful wood and great for beginners like myself.

Buy this first before you buy an actual spinning wheel. It’s not worth it to get the more expensive ones when this one does the job just fine- if you need it smoother some fine sandpaper will solve any rough spots. I started backwards with a spinning wheel and somehow find this to be faster while allowing for a consistent spin. Cons: For starters doesn’t include instructions, but can easily be found online with tutorial videos. Could be sanded smooth- has a tendency to grab loose fibers sanding smooth recommended. Could use multiple notches to park the working bit of string.

It is as advertised. It is a good top whorl spindle for beginner spinners. Spins wool or wool blends well. The hook does tend to unscrew, so gluing it may be necessary.

Ordered this spindle and when it arrived, the bottom 2 inches were broke off. Ordered a replacement and the second one, the hook on top was bent to the side. Instead of replacing it again, I was able to have my husband bend it back straight. Once fixed, the spindle seems to work pretty well.

This is an excellent spinner. I do like two notches on the top so I will add one with my pocket knife.

Cheap and works well! Not super heavy either. I got two of them and both seem well enough at their price point. I will say that I ended up replacing the metal hook part to a larger one to accommodate bulkier yarn projects.

The drop spindle itself seems to be of good quality but the item arrived with the screw-hook snapped. I can't get the piece out, so can't repair it. I will have to return it.
