It has Vitamin D with fish oil in it as well for absorption. It works well with the calcium I take to help with maximum absorption of calcium. It doesn't have flavor and goes down easily. I have taken it for years, and can always rely on desertcart to have it, as many of the Health food stores don't get in a dependable supply. I live in the PNW, and without this supplement, I would not get enough Vitamin D from sunlight Review: Good product - Good Product from Carlson Labs as always. For their Vitamin D though, I only wish they had it with Vitamin K added. ## Features - Provide the natural form of vitamin D3 - For people who do not get enough from the sun - This is the only form our bodies make when our skin is exposed to the sun's rays - Vitamin D is important for bone health and immune system function ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B003BVIAO8 | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Allergen Information | Fish | | Best Sellers Rank | #97,402 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #458 in Vitamin D Supplements | | Brand | Carlson | | Brand Name | Carlson | | Color | No Color | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 74 Reviews | | Diet Type | Gluten Free | | Dosage Form | Softgel | | Flavor | Natural lemon | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00088395014710 | | Item Dimensions | 6 x 5 x 4 inches | | Item Form | Softgel | | Item Highlight | Vitamin D3 and Omega-3 Supplement; 115 mg Omega-3s EPA and DHA Supplement; Wild Caught; Sustainably Sourced | | Item Weight | 4.16 ounces | | Manufacturer | Carlson | | Manufacturer Part Number | P35361 | | Model Name | Carlson Labs Solar D Gems Natural Vitamin D3, 2000 IU, 120 Softgels | | Model Number | P35361 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Primary Supplement Type | Vitamin-d | | Product Benefits | Bone Health | | Specific Uses For Product | Bone Health | | UPC | 088395014710 | | Unit Count | 120 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Carlson - **Diet Type:** Gluten Free - **Flavor:** Natural lemon - **Item Form:** Softgel - **Primary Supplement Type:** Vitamin-d ## Images ![Solar D Gems, 2000 IU (50 mcg) Vitamin D3, Lemon, 120 Softgels - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61iJLc6fpOL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: is this (Solar D Gems) plant derived or animal derived?** A: Ingredients are Cod Liver Oil & natural oil flavor. As far as I can ascertain there is nothing derived from plants. However, the shell consists of beef gelatin, glycerin and water. I have been taking this brand for at least four years. See my earlier reply to someone in 2012. My blood tests show 50 of whatever is the measurement and has been consistent for all years. I take 2000 IUs a day. When it is less than than I will look for a different product. **Q: Product description says 2000 iu, picture shows 4000 iu. which is it?** A: Product description is correct. When I ordered Carlson Solar D Gems I did not notice the 4000 iu as seen on the bottle photo versus 2000 iu in the product description. I bought the product based on the description and was pleased to get exactly that. I hope this helps you. :-) **Q: How large is this pill?** A: About 1/2 inch long and 3/8 wide. Not very big and it's easy to swallow. **Q: what vitamin is good for hair loss woman** A: About 10 years ago I started to lose my hair. A nutritionist told me to take Saw Palmetto, standardized 160mg of the active ingredient. It worked. My hair loss stopped and it started to grow back. It is not as thick as before the hair loss but you can no longer see my scalp and it looks good. It took about 3 months to see results but I still remember when I saw the hair starting to grow back. It was a big relief! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Supplement used for years *by P***P on August 28, 2025* This product is just great.
