Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (Mini DP to VGA) in Black - Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 Port Compatible

I recently purchased the AMD Radeon 7850 to do some casual gaming and was notably intrigued by the AMD Eyefinity software, which can span a game across 3 or more monitors. So I bought two older monitors off of eBay for cheap that were the same size and resolution of my current one. Since the graphics card had only one DVI port to use the included DVI-VGA adapter, I had to utilize the two Mini DisplayPorts. I was not hesitant to try out this adapter when it had the best reviews and most other Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapters were almost the same price as the monitors themselves! I was not disappointed. When first taking these adapters out of their packages, I inspected the build quality and was quite pleased. The cable connections and port felt quite sturdy, and although it does not matter so much to me since it's not going to move much from the back of my desktop, this is something a laptop user would look for. Hook-up was easy since the Mini DisplayPort slipped in nicely and locked tightly in place, while the VGA end slipped on with ease and the screws fit in perfectly. The computer immediately recognized the new monitors and I was able to begin working with them immediately. Setup could not have been easier. I immediately started the AMD Eyefinity software and that was all that was needed to begin gaming across all three monitors. 4032x1024 resolution looks spectacular and these adapters work perfectly for this use. Many people have complained about off-brand adapters not delivering the best quality or have problems with the video output or even getting the monitors to recognize in the first place. That was not the case with these two. I am pleased overall with the convenience, quality, and durability of these Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapters. If I ever need computer cables or adapters again, Cable Matters will be the first place I look.

...and it is simple to use. Works on my SP2 and is easy to travel with. On some TVs it cuts off some of the out edge of the screen size, but I believe this is a video card issues, not this Display port, because it works flawlessly on EVERY computer monitor I have plugged it into. The plastic may seem light, causing other reviews to call it "cheap," but it is solidly built like any peripheral device you pick up and hold at a BB store.

Bought this to hook up my ultra book to the projectors at work. The first time I hooked it up the screen flickered and the color was off, second time everything worked fine and has been working fine for over 2 dozen training sessions. It displays 1920x1080 resolution as well (it can probably go higher but this is the max resolution of my monitors). The quality is very good, the cable isn't flimsy and the connectors are molded well. I didn't try too hard, but I wasn't able to screw in the VGA connector to this, not much of a big deal as its not a permanent installation for me.

I am giving this product 4 stars because it broke in the first two months, but the company promptly shipped a new one and asked for the old one back to make improvements on it. The new one is working fine and I've had no issues so far. I will buy from Cable Matters again. Old Review: This product broke after 2 months. Just a few days after I couldn't return it anymore. Not cool man! Going to take it apart to see if I can fix it and make it work. Very frustrating!

Well, the cable is amazing, it works perfectly and I can use it with my microsoft surface pro. I was wondering if this cable will works, but it relly does. I can play games and see all in my new HD monitor and I can use it to expose jobs in power point or whatever I want to present. I really recommend this tool, is very useful and the most important, it really works.

It does work, but my particular unit it VERY touchy in that once you get it working, you can't touch it or the signal will be lost. I also noticed that the VGA connector cannot screw into the adapter to provide a rock-solid connection. Perhaps I just got a bad unit, but I'm pondering a return to see if it indeed is simply a bad unit. I don't use or need the adapter very often but when I do, obviously I need to rely on it.

I own a Macbook Air, and an external HP monitor with its input/output as VGA only. This little converter does a great job connecting my Macbook Air to my monitor. So far, so good- and I have no complaints. I've owned the product for about 3 months now- and everything is still working fine. Quality is decent as it is made of plastic- and seems to have proven itself to be durable in the long run. 5 stars.

Bought this so I could connect my older monitor with my macbookpro (mid 2010), since the older macbooks don't come with HDMI compatibility. Works great. The length of the cord is perfect for my personal set up at home, where I use it the most. I have a longer VGA cable that does the dirty work of having to route from my monitor, under my desk, and through the available cord slit in my desk, so this length works fine for me. I have owned this for a little over a month and have run into no problems so far.

Lo uso per le presentazioni con il PC, si attacca alla presa thunderbolt e lo si può usare con i vecchi proiettori o schermi con l'attacco VGA.Consigliato, non perde un colpo!

Es de calidad, funciona perfectamente y esteticamente, si usas un portatil negro, queda perfecto. Como pega, el precio es un poco elevado, pero el articulo es de calidad

J'ai acheté ce câble en 2014, il fonctionne encore très bien aujourd'hui. Je l'utilise principalement avec mon ordinateur Asus qui possède un mini display port. Il est également compatible avec les produits Apple comportant cette connectique. (Thunderbolt) Ce câble est bien pratique et permet brancher votre écran VGA sur un ordinateur qui n'en dispose pas, ou encore sur un carte graphique. Attention, ce câble ne transporte pas de signaux sonores contrairement aux cables HDMI ou Diplayport, en effet, le VGA supporte uniquement l'image. Je recommande ce produit qui ne montre pas de signe de faiblesse et à prix très correct.

Ich habe es schon sehr lange und es gab nie ein Problem damit. Ich habe es als Zwischenstecker von meinem MacBook Air zu einem zusätzlichen Bildschirm.

Excellent item and excellent customer service. unfortunately, the original unit I received was faulty and did not work. Through my own laziness I did not try to return the item. Upon reading my review, cable matters contacted me and arranged for a replacement to be sent out immediately. The replacement works perfectly and I cannot recommend this company enough.
