For the best consistency, your mix should contain at least 15% sugar. Also, if your mix contains too much alcohol it will not freeze properly since alcohol has a very low freezing temperature. **Q: does this keep the drinks frozen?** A: Yes! as long as the cooling button is on maximum or minimum, it will keep it the perfect frozen consistency. **Q: If I use Agave nectar instead of sugar will it still slush properly?** A: I haven’t used that before. I typically make Jamison Slushees in there and pina coladas once. But it will freeze either one of them almost completely solid (where the top pops up because the mixing arms can’t go through it) in about 3 hours. It freezes quicker than they advertise.
