We used these camping in the summer and had moths all over the outside of the tent. I've also used them in the winter, outside, where they got snowed and rained on, and they still worked. They dim with the life of the batteries for sure. I never cared for the various blinking options, and only used them on constant, but they lasted a 4 day camping trip and still had a little juice left. THey are too dim. I love that they are flexible, but flexibility does not equal brightness. Update: I had to increase my rating of this item as I discovered that the lights do provide a subtle nighttime glow to my uranium glass cabinet. The glow is quite soft and might be precisely what you're looking for.
