The pieces are designed to slot into one another (loosely) so that you can combine and separate them mid game. This is awesome because you can develop many interesting strategies and the game becomes much faster. Single-handedly got my family into playing chess!The pieces are of good quality; plastic, but not the cheap stuff you get from sets you buy at Walmart. The board is cardboard and much less impressive, but the pieces are hands down the big draw. I got mine from the Kickstarter and shortly after that my Dad bought one for himself, along with a nice board to replace the one that comes with the set. He's talked about gifting it to several other people, and honestly, it's one of those products that deserves it.Some drawbacks are that people occasionally have difficulty identifying the pieces. The knights are funky, and the bishops are very similar to the pawns due to the modern sleek aesthetic, but after a few games that becomes less of a problem. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Good game *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2023* I enjoy the whole concept of the game but mine came in with one extra pawn and one missing rook I would rate this much higher if It had come with the correct pieces I don't want to send the whole thing back just for one piece so I may just make the pawn into a rook somehow . . . Otherwise the set is nice and the gameplay is really unique!
