Tips for loving this cup
A lot of reviews I’ve read seem to be user error. My 12 month old drinks from this cup very easily in almost any position and loves it. And after figuring out a few things, I think it is nearly perfect. Let’s clear up a few things other reviews have complained about, so you will love your new cup too. 1. It leaks/bubbles out cold liquid when taken out of the fridge. -This is not a design flaw but just a physics reaction. Yes, if you take the cup from the fridge to room temp, the cold air inside the cup expands as it warms pushing out a bit of liquid from the straw. Very simple solution is to simply unscrew the top for a minute (maybe less!) so that as the air expands in room temp, and liquid isn’t pushed up and out of the straw. Seriously, try it. Very simple solution once you realize why it is happening. 2. The valve in the straw make is very difficult to drink out of. -I thought this at first as well. Please do not cut the valve out as other reviews have suggested. The valve is meant to be compressed from front to back (top to bottom) as toddler is drinking, and once compressed slightly, offers nearly no resistance to drinking. When not compressed, keeps your cup leak proof. 3. Difficult to clean. -You can also compress this valve front to back, to insert cleaning brush provided and to allow water to rinse through it easily while cleaning. Knowing how to use the valve makes cleaning very simple. 4. Not leak proof when turned upside down. -I think this has to do with improper straw and stopper placement. You must pull the straw through until it clicks into place and make sure the stopper connected to the straw is firmly placed over the air hole at the top of the lid. Then, no matter how my toddler carries it around, it never leaks when upside down. Also, make sure the lid is screwed on until the handles click over the bumps on the side to lock it on. It is easy to not screw the top on enough if you don’t know it needs to click in place to lock. I’m sure a few cup will be made with defects and this won’t fix everyone’s problems, but I think a bit more knowledge of how to use the cup properly would solve most of the complaints listed about the cup. User error seems to be the biggest problem with these cups. The only minor draw back I’ve noticed is occasionally getting flicked with liquid when my son finishes drinking and flicks the straw out of his mouth at me. But I think that will get better with time. *Please don’t let the negative reviews keep you from buying and loving this cup. Just take a minute to learn how to use it to its best potential and I think you will love this cup too!

Awesome cup, takes some trouble shooting, but worth it
I bought this cup for my daughter when she began her transition away from a bottle around 11 months. There are some things to note about this cup so that it functions properly. First, the straw was really hard to suck through when I first tested it. However, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE DISPOSABLE PLASTIC COVER IS REMOVE FROM THE WEIGHT AT THE END OF THE STRAW BEFORE FIRST USE. Also, it helps if you roll the top of the straw where the valve is through your fingers a couple times to initially open the valve before first use. This is also suggested in the instructions that come with the cup and I think some people who left bad reviews about the slow flow of the straw may have not done one or both of these things. I myself did not do either before trying the cup the first time and I also thought it was impossible to pull through. Second, THIS CUP DOES LEAK A SMALL AMOUNT. The valve that keeps the milk from coming up from the straw is about an inch and half below the top. This means that any milk that is in the straw above this valve will leak when the cup is tipped over, thrown, or if the straw is flicked such as when you open the cup after closing it with milk in the straw. THERE IS AN EASY FIX FOR THIS. After your child is done drinking and before the cup is thrown or closed roll the top of the straw through your fingers, so that the milk above the valve can go back down. OTHER THAN THIS I HAVE NOT HAD ANY LEAKS WHEN THE CUP IS PROPERLY CLOSED. Third, I ended up ordering 4 of these cups for my daughter to use daily for the milk we send with her meals to daycare. Somehow, I received cups from two different batches or from two different manufacturers and the tops of two do not fit the other two and vice versa. This led to the cups significantly leaking from around the rim and I thought at first, they had warped in the dishwasher. IF YOUR CUPS ARE LEAKING AROUND THE RIM, PLEASE CHECK THE PRODUCT NUMBER ON THE LID AND CUP TO SEE IF THEY MATCH EACH OTHER. Apparently, Munchkin uses more than one manufacturer, and the products are not exactly identical. This is a little annoying, but I can live with it because overall the cups work really great for my daughter. The weights straw works great, and she has even leaned all the way upside down and still been able to drink. The straw is awesome verses a sippy cup because it is actually helping to strengthen the muscles, she will use later for talking. And the handles on the side allowed her to immediately be able to drink independently without any trouble at age 11 months. OVERALL, THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT. I HAVEN'T FOUND ANYTHING BETTER SO FAR!!!!

Almost perfect, annoying to clean
Baby figured out how to drink out of a straw cup within 3 minutes of using this. However, The straw is a pain in the butt to clean. And yes it will leak IF you don’t have the straw fully pulled through and the silicone suction part secured.

Good for a toddler!
Seal isn’t great. It DOES leak if it’s upside down or thrown on the floor, but I like the click when you turn the lid. My baby does well with this since he still likes to tip the cup like a bottle. Definitely prefer this over some others since it’s easy for him to use. Color is great. Like that it comes with a straw cleaner. Only issue is to get the water out of the straw, but we use it so much it doesn’t matter. Dishwasher safe and simple cleaning.

Favorite cup ever
The Munchkin Any Angle Sippy Cup is amazing! My toddler can drink from any side of the cup thanks to the weighted straw, which makes it so easy for little ones to stay independent. It’s completely spill-proof, easy to hold, and the transition from bottle to cup has been smooth and stress-free. The materials feel durable and easy to clean, and my toddler loves using it every day. Highly recommend for parents looking for a mess-free, toddler-friendly cup that really works!

If you want to go insane cleaning up leaks, these cups are for you!
"Spill Proof Seal with Patented Click Lock Technology: Twist the lid until you hear a click, which signals that the seal is secure." Cool, cool. But what about the straw, Munchkin people? Kiddo leave the cup on its side? Drip, drip, drip all over the floor, couch, rug, new baby, etc. Dare to bring the cup with you in the car to pickup your kiddo from daycare on a hot day? Stand back as you open the flip top lid - milk will shoot out like a squirt gun, and your child will lose his mind as you, once again, avoid losing an eye. Kiddo displeased at his dinner selection, and in protest launches the cup across the room, narrowly missing the cats head? Queue milk dripping out of the straw as the cup Lazy Susan's itself in circles on the floor. And no, this was not a defect with one or two cups. We've gone through several because our son loves them and refuses to use anything else at this point. Every single cup did the same thing. If he didn't love them so much I'd switch to another cup in a heartbeat. They also wear out over time, especially if you clean them in the dishwasher. We noticed the lid is significantly harder to screw on after dishwasher use, as the seal is hard to attain. So why 3 stars? Glad you asked. 1 star for the weighted straw and handles (both are awesome), 1 for ease of use and easy to clean, and 1 for the lid truly having a secure seal (when not cleaned in the dishwasher). Lost 2 stars for durability over time and the leaking straw (aka the daily testing of my patience and sanity).

We love it
I was surprised how easy it was for my nursing baby to learn how to sip from a straw, and pleased to find that he really could hold and drink from these cups at just about any angle, without spilling anything. I also appreciated the included cleaning brush, as the straws are narrow and would otherwise get gross pretty quickly, even when only used with water. There are cheaper alternatives available but these are still an excellent value due to sturdiness, durability and ease of use.

Love that it works at every angle!
My favorite sippy cup! I love this one when they are starting out with the straw. I love that every angle will work- it’s a brilliant design. BUT know that it is not spill proof! It will spill! And the straw does act like a siphon sometimes and pulls liquid up and out. Despite these things, we love it. My baby can easily hold it on her own, it’s easy to clean, works great!
