Still strong a decade later
I was looking at my workout equipment and realized I bought this mat 11 years ago. I used it heavily for about 3 years and lightly the other years, but it’s still in great shape. I’m sticking with this brand for future mat purchases.

Good mat, a little slippery at first, but very worth the price.
I got the orange and it looks just like the picture. I love that it's extra long but somehow rolls up to a standard size. It didn't come with the bad smell that some others have complained about but I wiped it down with warm water and a rag when I got it anyway. I found that for some reason after I wiped it down it was stickier than when I first got it but it's still not the stickiest mat. My hands start slipping slowly but surely after a few seconds in downward dog. It feels like there is a slick coating on it. I expect after more use it will lose some of that slickness, hopefully. It seems like a very good quality mat that will last for quite a while.I wanted a thick mat because I'm bony and bruise easily. This mat is a good thickness for those just looking for something with a little more cushion. If you're looking for a thicker mat because of injuries or something more serious than boniness this probably wouldn't cut it and I'd recommend a thicker one. For my purposes though, I'm quite pleased. One thing to keep in mind is that the thicker a mat is, the more it starts to throw off your balance. I think this is a good middle ground between the most comfortable and the best balance.

Admittedly slippery at first, but durable and a good size
I've bought cheap yoga mats in the past (think Tuesday Morning, Ross, etc.) and had them start to disintegrate and peel within a few practices and a few hot days in my trunk. So far, this mat is holding up to my abuse. If it ever starts to fall apart, I'll come back and update. As other reviewers have mentioned, this mat is slippery when you first get it. To solve this problem you have 2 options:1) Clean it before you use it like you're supposed to, or2) Use it 20 or so times and wait for whatever that makes it slippery to wear off. I went with the latter (I kept intending to clean it, but got busy) and after a month, I no longer slide out of down-dog.I'm 5'7" and have also bought cheap mats that aren't quite long enough for me to practice on comfortably. If you don't read closely, you might miss that this mat is extra long (74'' x 24'' wide). It's awesome to be able to go a whole practice without worrying that I'm no longer on my mat. Also, the thickness is good for me. I've used thinner mats (1/8") and thicker mats (5/8") and find that even with young joints, having the "extra thick" 1/4" is nice in kneeing poses, but it's not so thick to make it hard to keep balance poses.

Decent starter mat
I've had this mat for just a few years now. There are definitely softer mats out there, but if you aren't too particular about the softness, this one will probably do fine. I use it on wooden floors where it sometimes loses its grip after catching dust, etc. My advice if you're having that issue is to avoid dragging it along the floor...rather, roll it back up exactly where you were using it. I've had several instances during fast pace exercises where the mat would move just a little, but it IS called a "yoga" mat after all. It'd be nice if it were a little wider so my (tiny) arms could remain fully on the mat rather than off the edges, but simply turn your body so your feet are on the ground if you want to do push ups hands touching the mat (I just personally prefer to keep my entire body on the mat). If you're not keen about softness and looking to do yoga, like is probably a decent start. If you want to do more fast-paced moves, something wider with a better grip might be preferable.

Slippery upon arrival
So, this product came in very slippery upon arrival. It has a chemical smell on it to preserve it on the shelf. So, it will be very slippery until it is broken in I assume. Downward dog is really difficult. Anyways, I plan on putting some apple-cider vinegar, water, and essential oil to help clean it. Maybe that will get the chemical that they put on it. I think the marketing of "non-slip" may get your attention, but make sure you have time to break it in before you actually do some yoga. I will probably update once it breaks in. The color is very good. The length is good for my 6'3" frame. Anyways, if you're expecting a ready to go mat, you may be surprised.

Nice basic yoga mat
This is a solid basic yoga mat. I've had mine 4 years now, and with semi-regular use, it's starting to show some wear. The color is nice and vibrant and it offers relatively low slip for positions like downward dog. Definitely a good option for beginner yoga or just general working out and stretching.

Good Mat, though requires cleaning
This mat is nice and thick, and the color is just like in the picture. I love how bright and fun it is. The mat is a bit slippery though. I have used it a few times already. The first class I used it in, it was great! During the rest, however, the mat has continued to get more and more slippery. I had a very hard time keeping my poses during the last class. I am going to try cleaning it with a couple different solutions, as described in other reviews, to see if that helps. I would prefer that the mat came already ready for use, rather than me needing to clean it to make it not slippery. For only that price though, I still think it is a good deal.
