Putting these in a standard header makes a push and program pad on circuit boards very easy so a header isn't needed, just 4 test point copper areas in a line to match your programmer (I'm using PicKit 4 and putting these in it). Enough travel so you can be sure all are contacted during a fast programming operation if programming a bulk batch of boards.

Nice price for the amount and build quality. Great when building test beds for electronics, where repetitive or non destructive access is needed.

The pogo pins are actually a decent quality, and I didn't have any units that were bad or had failed straight out of the box. The spring tension is relatively firm, and the travel is only about 3 or 4mm, but this is totally fine for putting together some quick DIY test jigs. The quality of the material used in the pins themselves looks and feels pretty good. Solder takes to the base of the pins easily with some flux and a decently powerful iron. Considering this pack of 100 is only 11.33CAD (at time of review), the value is pretty great. A nice set to have in the parts bin.
