Smooth and quiet operating bearing. Fit perfectly to make the mower spindle rebuild a fast easy job.

Needed spindle bearings for a craftsman mower. These were cheaper than I could find local and were Timken not cheap knock offs. They are working perfectly and are smoother and quieter than the cheap ones that I bought the last time.

Timkens are the only bearings to use for mower spindles. They have a higher side load than any other bearing. Use SKF for higher speed but lower side load. If you have grease fittings, pop out the inner seal before pressing the bearing in or don't even worry about greasing. Never press or drive them by the inner race. I tried a no name Chinese, 10 pack for less than 2 timkens, they suddenly failed, without warning and destroyed the spindle housing.

These got my riding lawn mower spindles working again. Although, I did pull the seals and found it needed some more grease. If you have a mower spindle with a grease fitting, you can't use it to grease these bearings with the seals in place. The seals will keep your grease out of the bearing.

Replacing the bearings on a Hayward SP3400VSP pool pump motor armature requires one 6204 2rs and one 6203 2rs bearing. I chose Timkin because of their quality and having decades of experience buying the brand for applications for automotive repairs. The 2rs signifies the bearing is sealed on both sides, which is exactly the style of bearing used by Hayward.

I bought these because of the name. But contrary to what some reviewers said, not all Timkens are made in USA. Some are made in China.
