Review: Used These to Conceive Two Children and for Years of Cycle Tracking Between Pregnancies - I originally purchased this kit at the end of January 2017 when my husband and I decided we were ready to start trying for our first baby. I had never tracked ovulation before, so these strips gave me a much better understanding of my cycle. Within the first week of February I could see my LH levels rising and learned that I ovulated on February 3rd. Having that information took so much of the guesswork out of trying to conceive. A few weeks later on the morning of February 22nd I took one of the included pregnancy tests and was greeted with a beautiful positive result. Our first child was born on October 31 2017. After she was born I still had strips left, so I continued using them to track my cycles as part of our natural family planning approach while we waited before trying for another baby. When we decided to start trying again in late 2018, I already understood my cycle much better because I had continued tracking. We missed my fertile window that first month of trying but the following cycle I identified my LH surge around December 2nd. On December 20th I had another positive pregnancy test using one of the included HCG strips. Our second child was born in September 2nd 2019. Even after having our second child, I continued using the remaining strips for cycle tracking. It’s now 2026 and looking back this kit ended up being one of the most useful purchases we made while growing our family. **Q: When is the best time to dtd once you have the lh surge?  should you be doing it before or is it best to wait until you see both lines?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry Heather. Once you receive an LH surge, your body will release the egg and start the process of ovulation within 24-48 hours. You can DTD anytime during that time frame to increase your chances of conception.  Please note sperm can last in the body on average 3-5 days. **Q: How long until Lh surge is no longer detected or line gets fainter?**
A: If you see a surge for more than 2-3 days (or even both lines appearing for most of your cycle), you likely have PCOS and need to see your doctor about it. Ovulation test strips will not work for you. And you'll likely have to go to more sensitive tests thay measure estrogen as well, and quite likely medication.

**Q: Can you ovulate  more than once month because ive been getting the both dark libes and some light but not too dark as a second line**
A: Thank you for contacting Ashleyann Mabatid. Usually women do not ovulate twice in a month. It could happen if there was a shorter cycle in a longer month, but the possibility would be slim. 

Note, if the test read at 3-5 minutes did not show a T line the same or darker than the C line, it is a negative result. Women do have a natural wave of Lh peaks to low ( base lines). It is more likely that the results are showing as fainter or darker based on:

1. when you test
2. sample tested
3. reading the results at proper read time

Meaning, getting good samples are important to detect proper hormone levels. For LH testing, testing at 2pm or after and reducing liquids a couple hours before testing is optimal. Using dilute urine or very concentrated urine ( first morning) is not advised for LH testing. Lastly, make sure to read all results at 3-5 minutes. The tests will look much darker after 5 minutes until it dries several hours later.

I don't often write reviews, but this is one product I genuinely stand behind and have purchased over and over again for years. As someone who has been trying to conceive for several years and is dealing with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), low AMH, elevated FSH and LH levels, and other fertility challenges, accurate cycle tracking is incredibly important to me. These Easy@Home ovulation and pregnancy test kits have become an essential part of my journey. I always keep a box on hand and reorder when I'm down to about 10 ovulation strips because I never want to risk running out. Each box includes 40 ovulation tests and 20 pregnancy tests, which is an incredible value compared to buying small packs at local stores.
