Works great on gray hair
I used to use this as a teen and now I'm in my 60s and still using it. It makes my gray hair brighter and folks think I have highlights. It makes the gray blend in nicely with my brown hair.

Natural Look for Dark Hair
Overall I really like this product, and even though it has damaged my hair pretty badly I'll probably keep using it. I have really straight, thick black hair, and this lightened it a substantial amount to the point where all my friends noticed it when I went back to school. I used an entire bottle of it over quarantine-- I would spray (a lot) of it all over my hair and then go sit outside with my back to the sun for like 30 minutes 3-4x a week. I probably saw my hair lightening within the first two weeks-- it turned a reddish brown color that's visible indoors (not just direct sunlight). I did feel that after two months of using it though, my hair stopped lightening, but I think that's just because my hair is so dark. As for the damage-- this will damage your hair a lot. I have a lot of split ends now. Even after I trimmed my ends the first time, every two months I have to trim my ends because they split really quickly. I think it's because there's damage throughout my hair now, so every time I cut the hair at the ends, that hair isn't any healthier and just splits. But if you're not trying to grow your hair out a ton, it doesn't really matter, which is why I'm going to keep using this product because it's probably the cheapest way you can lighten your hair. And the color that this turns my hair looks really natural, which can be hard to do on really dark hair in a salon in my experience.

Cheap way to get lighter color. Good product
I've been using sun in since I was in my teens. It's a cheap way to get a little lighter color if you dont want to spend alot of money in the salon. The smell isnt bad at all. I used it throughout a few days. Spray some all over damp hair after the shower and brush it so it's even. I've blown dryed it and then sometimes I just go outside in the sun an it does the same thing. It does lighten hair It will be a reddish tone on darker hair but if u re apply it until u get the blonde or shade u want it works. Also it doesnt leave hair feeling gross or dried out

hair looks pretty natural after using the lightener
tones down the hair pretty naturally after applied! the more you apply the lighter the tone of your hair! I always go little by little to get exactly what I want! when out under the sunlight your hair will look much lighter, than when you see yourself in the mirror! so tone up little by little!

Works but terrible smell
The Sun-In products work great to lighten my hair. They do dry it out a bit but that's to be expected for what it is at the price. The chemical perfume smell is terrible though and wish they made one that wasn't to overwhleming. Gives me nausea and a headache.

Works well for me
I have used this product for years to lightly color my hair. It doesn’t cover the gray but helps blend my natural medium brown with the gray. I just use my hair dryer to activate it.

I've been using Sun-In for 25+ years. A natural blond, my hair streaks in the summer sun, tending towards mousy in the winter. Sun-In keeps those streaks year round. Now as I'm older I spray my roots about once a month just to keep me blond. Use sparingly every few days, a squirt or two goes a long way, until you get the result you want, then maintain. Saves on expensive and damaging salon treatments. Excellent product, highly recommend.

This is the best hair lightener for my hair. My hair got real dark blonde and I find it is easier using this instead of going to a beauty salon and dying my hair. I just spray in every 3 or 4 washings. Doesn't dry my hair and don't need heat and sun to get light hair like other formulas. Will keep purchasing.

I have used sun in for years and stopped using it for many years and decided to start using it again as I wanted to minimize my visits to the salon. I was disappointed as it did not work like it used to, it lightened a bit but not drastically like it used to.
