I use this thermometer in taking care of our calves and cows. It reads very fast and is easy to read. It has larger numbers, and it will beep when the high temperature is reached. It has actually been a big part of keeping my animals healthy, because it is so easy to use. You will have to push the button and hold it for a few seconds for it to turn on and then push the button again for it to turn off. Highly recommended.

I needed to take the temperature of a ram on the farm but didn't have a thermometer. My husband picked one up for me. I get out to the field to take the temperature and realize that the thermometer isn't digital. (I know I should've pulled it out of the case and looked at it.) I haven't used a non-digital thermometer in decades. Plus, I didn't have my readers so wouldn't be able to read it, even if I could remember how to take it correctly. I came inside and immediately when to Amazon to locate a digital thermometer that would arrive in a couple of days. Viola, done! The thermometer arrives. This time I do look over the thermometer. Everything looks ready to go. It came with the battery. Went out, again, to check the temperature of the ram and was successful! Super simple to use. Pull off the sheath, push the button (it should have an "L"), and insert the thermometer. Within about 8 seconds, I had the temperature. Also has a nice case to keep it in when not in use. I definitely recommend.

I turned it on. Stayed on for about 10 seconds, then went blank. Would not turn back on. Completely dead. I guess I now need to order a battery. I have a sick horse and need to take a temp! I brought a different thermometer at TSC that doesn’t seem accurate and this one is dead on arrival. Not happy. Not recommended

I bought this as a livestock thermometer (rear entry for a horse) and it worked excellent! Significantly reduced the amount of time I needed to be behind the animal to take temps... and when you have an injured animal that has been on stall rest for some time, that's a big deal.

The first one I received I read the instructions and could not get it to turn on and it had a battery. I asked for a replacement which arrived quickly and could not get it to turn on. I looked through the customer questions and found where there was a barely visible clear plastic tab which has to be removed from the battery for it to work. Someone needs to add that to the instructions for this product!

It is easy to use and seems accurate. It is very large - almost a foot long - so it is a good thing the horse doesn't know what's coming. I wish that the business end was a bit more rounded. There is a taper at the end, so the rounded insertion end is smaller than I expected. It is not a point, nor is it sharp, but it is much slimmer than my old mercury filled horse thermometer with its bulb on the end. I bought this to add to a traveling equine emergency kit, but I think now I will keep this one for barn use, and take my old mercury thermometer on the road so I don't have to worry about battery life.

the thermometer took too long to get her came with out a battery the the piece that hold the battery in is cheap came with no instructions or paper works

Nice to have incase of a emergency situation. I’ve had to use it one time and it worked very well.
