Years ago, I purchased another brand balance board that consists of balancing a board on a cylinder that moves back and forth. The reason for purchasing a balance board was to get better at balance to improve my surfing and for overall fitness. Core workouts using balance boards can be some of the best workouts to improve health.I really enjoyed the other balance board, but it had a few flaws. For one thing, if you lost balance, the board could shoot out like a rocket and do some serious damage to anything it hits. Another problem is that since you are balancing on a cylinder that moves back and forth, it also tends to shift its position in the room gradually, causing you to have to get off the board, pick up both board and cylinder and then set back down in center of the room. This realignment had to be done about every minute or so of using the balance board.With the Strongboard, there is no back and forth movement, thus the 2 problems with the previous board are both eliminated! I literally cannot point out a single flaw with the strongboard.I was worried that the strongboard wouldn't be that difficult and that I wouldn't get as good of a workout as my old balance board. That couldn't be further from the truth. The best example I can give you as to what it feels like to stand on the strongboard is if you have ever been to a public park that had those old fashioned metal seahorse or other animals that are on a spring for little kids to climb on. If you as a kid ever tried to stand up on one those, this is the feeling that you get standing on the strongboard. It is impossible to find a balance point where you can just stand and rest. You could literally just stand on the strongboard, watch television and get a workout from the constant balancing you are doing.Then if you incorporate extra exercise like hand weights, squats, pushups etc, you will get a serious workout.I am so excited about this strongboard that I am going to tell everyone I know about it. This is the real deal. Get it, you will not be disappointed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does What It Claims It Will Do but CRAZY EXPENSIVE *by V***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2018* It destabilizes. It adds variability (important). It adds creativity and avoids repetitive issues. Potentially it could allow you to do a movement (lunge?) with an angle or variation that would not bother your knee the way a floor-based standard lunge would. I'm not playing PT here, that would be between you and your therapist; however, it is apparent that this devices, and similar devices may provide such relief while challenging the user in new and creative ways. We all know the more angles we work and the more compound the movements as we train, the greater the overall result. This device does offer all of that. It is heavily constructed, though not in a manner quite like the exorbitant price would suggest; still it seems that it will hold up over the long haul and take a bit of abuse. The four springs are strong and yet not so much that you need to weigh in like a pro wrestler to make them move; they respond to very little pressure. I have use the board extensively since purchase and though I think the price for the product is absolutely insane, I will keep it because it provides what I want and does it better than any other product I have tried to-date. My recommendation is that you make sure you will use this type of challenge in a lot of vary creative ways because it is NOT easy, but then that is the point. If you're not sure you will use it, it is a whole lot of money for a goofy looking device to sit the corner. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely picked the right one!!! *by F***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2018* I was going back and forth between this and another balance board & was hesitant because this one was about $130 more than the other. Well, happy to report that my money was well spent! Definitely helps with balance & the ability to use it for additional workouts makes it that much better than the other options. My balance has improved significantly in an unbelievably short amount of time (mainly noticed in my tree pose & other yoga poses) & in less than a week, my squats on the Strong Board have gotten much better. My son and husband both love it as well (husband for curls and push ups & my little guy just likes to wiggle on it!) Overall, well the price for the quality of the product. My initial plan was to get another board later, but that would be totally unnecessary. I'm hooked!!!Side note: Be careful getting on and off; my husband took a tumble the first time he tried to get on it.
