Good quality. Fresh and clean. If you're trying to cut out chocolate, carob can be a substitute. But for me, chocolate and carob taste different. Chocolate is bitter and rich, carob is sweet and nutty. Sometimes I want chocolate milk, and sometimes I want carob milk. They can be used in a lot of the same ways, hence making it a good substitute.

I got this because my normal brand was out. It's pretty good but has a little more of a rich taste. Smells okay but I'm not crazy about the smell of the powder anyway. Seems fresh and wasn't stale or anything. I used it in shakes so I am not sure how of the meltability like in a dessert or anything that you would bake. Worth the money because it's surely better for you than chocolate.

My son has a chocolate allergy. Yeah it sucks. We usually find work arounds using different flavors like vanilla or cherry. This year for his birthday he wanted a minecraft cake. Sigh. The easiest way to mimic dirt is chocolate. So I did some digging and came across carob. 1:1 ratio in baking as a replacement for regular cocoa powder is what I used. It turned out great! He's very excited to have the cake he wanted, and I'm glad I didn't have to pack it with a ton of food coloring to get the brown color I was needing. It tastes like a lighter, nutter version of chocolate. When baking it smelled like chocolate cake, and looks like chocolate cake. The package came sealed, no leakage and fast. I didn't have any issues at all. I will buy again!
