Apple iPad Air Drop Tech Pink Gumdrop Cases Silicone Rugged Shock Absorbing Protective Dual Layer Cover Case

I bought this to use with the new iPad (2017) as my 9 year old son got one and absolutely needed the protection of a Gumdrop case! There are two major caveats. One, I had to saw off a bit of the case near the new iPad's volume controls as they are in a slightly different location, otherwise it was pushing down on the up volume all the time. Second, the case covers up the touch fingerprint reader as there wasn't one with the older iPad Air. For now, this gives me the protection the new iPad needs and I'll replace it with the specifically designed version from Gumdrop when it becomes available.

Case fits well and was easy to put on. The buttons and ports are all easily accessed and the rubber is pleasant tactilely. The screen protector fits well and did not have a noticeable effect on the touch screen sensitivity.There are two irritations of note.On the ipad air the case makes it slightly inconvenient to swipe from the edge of the screen, which I use often to adjust screen brightness.Light from certain CFL bulbs will create a rainbow reflection on the screen if the viewing angle is more than a few degrees off. The effect is minor and I quickly stopped noticing.So far this is a great case and I would recommend it.Update: one month in -Screen has a split in the plastic about a cm long, about 2 inches in from the upper left corner (measured diagonally). I do not know how that occurred, whether it is my fault or a faulty product.Update: 11 months in -I am moving this from 4 to 5 stars. The case has held up well and performed above my expectations. It still looks and feels new. The tablet was recently fully submerged in water for a very short period of time. after rescuing the tablet and stripping off the case, I was pleased to see that the tablet was dry.

Our kids love gumdrop cases. We have owned most brands and gumdrop is the winner bc of the grip on the back. They don't drop it.We bought them airs and they requested gumdrop cases. Due to a sale we bought one survivor and one gumdrop case. Both cases were slimmer than before, obviously, but I don't feel the gumdrop will be as secure in the case as it was with the previous model. The case does not have as much cushion in the front if it were to be dropped face down.The gumdrop has more back grip where the kids hold it, but less frt drop protection than the survivor.

After my last (different) IPad case lasted less than a year, I wanted something a little more sturdy, but not as expensive as an Otterbox or Survivor. i think I found the perfect one! The case is lighter weight than the Survivor one my kids have on their school IPads, but it still feels strong. It's is easy enough to put on and fits securely. Buttons are easy to find and press through the silicone. I thought I would miss the auto-off feature from my last case but it's easy enough to press the power button, so it hasn't been an issue, I had a glass screen cover on from my last case, I didn't have to remove it to install the screen from the Gumdrop, although with the double layer, I do notice a mild decrease in touch sensitivity near the edges of the screen. Not enough to bother me yet though and I'm comfortable enough with the protection offered by the Gumdrop to remove the old screen cover if it starts to. All in all, I'm very pleased with the purchase!

I liked the product, but was not impressed with the protective cover for the screen. Too hard to clean and could never get it to my liking. Plus, the edges where the plastic is connected to the frame was not clean as there were little strays pieces of plastic that I could not get rid of by trimming. A cosmetic thing but I would have liked a cleaner product. The cover for the headphone portal broke from average use. I am 50/50 if I would buy this product again.

I like the drop tech case and would recommend it. That being said I did find that the control buttons for volume and power didn't work well. My volume would self adjust depending on where my hands were placed, same as with the power button. I took the rubber portion of the case turned it inside out. I then used a razor blade to trim the buttons flat. This worked great and now no more problems. Thanks

This item perfect fits my iPad Air (Apple model MF004LL/A). Camera openings for front and back are good with no distortion. Headphones and lightning port covers provide good protection when closed and enough space when open to use. Home key works good. The touch screen cover should protect against most scratches and still is responsive.The primary user of this device is my 9 year old. I really like the textured cover as it helps the kids hold onto the device without being slippery. It adds some weight and bulk to the device, which makes me confident in the protection of the device.I also have a gumdrop case for my iPad 2 and it still provides protection 3 years later. Hopefully this one lasts just as long.Thanks Gumdrop.

This case accurately snugs an iPad, all buttons work perfectly, the grip and feel are remarkable, not adding to much bulk or weight. All of the reviews talked about how great this case feels in hand, how it eliminates all clumsiness and slipperiness. The screen protector is something that I didn't think I would like, but I truly appreciate. It may not offer major trauma protection of some more major cases, but it will handle most abuse and come through shining. I looked at many product reviews and came away thinking this was the winner case - I couldn't be happier. Nice look and feel - a true winner of a product. Any early issues have completely vanished, and this is a truly remarkable protective solution for an expensive item which could easily be thrashed by abuse. Top Score from me!

This remains one of the best cases out there for the iPad. I had the same one for the iPad 2 and now for my iPad Air. Based on the reviews here I tried to cancel my order. I was too late to do so but when it arrived and I put it on the iPad, it was perfect and I've had no problems whatsoever. Gumdrop have now fixed the issues others were having so make sure if you buy one of these, you are getting the latest release.

We work with children who have disabilities. Our iPads need to be protected and these cases come out on top. Our iPads take some serious use, get dropped and banged and in the last 2 years we've had to repair NO iPad screens. Wish we could still get them for the iPad 2's we have.

This is the fourth one of these I have purchased for an iPad used by kids - I would not allow them the iPad without it! Even though it's a bit bulky it's well worth it as it does protect the iPad all round.My 11 year old son has his iPad since he was 8 and if I take this cover off the iPad is the same as the day he got it - not a mark on it - I would highly recommend this for anyone who allows kids to use the iPad.I even purchased the same type case for my iPhone

This was a replacement for a more expensive gumdrop case with stand. The magnet housing snapped.It is adequate, very good protection but the downside is that the access covers for the volume controls are in the wrong place by 30mm - had to trim the housing back. The screen cover on this one is not very sensitive and of course you can't use the finger recognition with it.Could be bettert.

Have purchased these in the past for other Apple iPad models and always excellent protection.This fitted my iPad air perfectly,no problems at all. Recommended!!
