After close examination, I could not find a label identifying the material used in its production. It appears to be a very thick nylon and is label as 30,000 lb load limit. It does appear to be well built but I have not used it yet.

Can this be attached to 2 tow hooks on a vehicle and just winch the center of the strap?

Besides being bought as a 'tree-saver', I intend to use it as a "BRIDLE" for exactly the reason you ask. Being rated at a higher strength number, it should be robust enough to withstand that intended use. Most tow-hooks are rated up to 10,000 lbs(3/4-1 ton trucks) and dividing the shock load between 2 of them just makes sense from a safety factor, when trying to extract heavy pickup trucks, or lighter vehicles from heavy mud. For the price, even if it only lasts a few times using as a BRIDLE, this strap is a bargain. As a tree strap, it should last a long time. I prefer to use a web strap first in this configuration, then a heavy looped rigging cable(1/2 inch), then a chain last. To answer your question as a 'winch-point', the shock-loading should be below the stress point of breaking. using as a bridle with a "tow strap", not a recovery strap or rope would put more....stress....on it, but also would be below it's ultimate breaking point.As another person posted, putting a winch hook in the middle of the bridle, would be the weakest point, Attaching a tow strap at this point, THEN a hook to the looped tow strap end, would decrease any weak point on the bridle, The winch hook would only attach in the straps covered and reinforced loop.

Which to buy for emergency recovery & tow? The 10k model isn't enough to tow my 6K lb vehicle and w the 30K model, my 10K rated hitch would break 1st

Heavy duty and well made

So far I have been using this to wrap around a tree and support snatch blocks when pulling stumps. The construction is very good and besides being covered in pitch and other tree gunk, it shows no sign of wear. I have also used it to sling bundles of long branches to manually drag them out to a clearing.

Great strap. Great price

Update: I have decided to destroy my old strap before I use the new one. I just pulled up a grown tree roots and all with a frayed strap. This thing is ridiculously strong and I added a photo as proof. I have absolutely put this strap through pure hell. I have a 66 hp John Deere tractor abs used the strap. Pulling logs from land I’m clearing. After Hurricane Sally came through Florida. It left trees partially uprooted and blown over. I attached the strap to the tree or log. And pulled, tugged and towed massive trees with it. I’m buying it again only because I didn’t notice at the time. I got it hung up in my front end loader. Even after all that and a good 15 minutes ripping the crap out of it with my front loader. It still never broke only frayed to a degree I’m just going to replace it. This is one extremely heavy duty strap. Wow.
