Rick Steves Iceland

Very thorough and informative book. It was a big help when planning our trip to beautiful Iceland! I had bought another travel book about Iceland before this one, but the font size was so small it was very difficult to read and not easy to use. This one was great!

I'm a huge fan of Rick Steves' travel guides and he does it again with this thorough, helpful, travel book. We are going to Iceland in a few months and I love how he has ideas of off-the-beaten-bath things to do, places to stay, and places to eat. It's so great for first-time as well as experienced travelers. We have traveled all over the world and I am always so happy when Rick Steves has a guide book for an area we are going to. It's much easier to read than other travel books I've gotten over the years, and is very well-organized into sections so you can follow his suggestions as to how to get around and where to go, but also he has lots of other ideas and options. Highly recommend!

My wife and I arrived in Iceland with a number of hotel reservations, Rick's book and not much else. We had a rental car with unlimited mileage so we really struck out into the great unknown to see what Rick was recommending. He had great suggestions in virtually every area and thanks to his advice "skip the 45 minute walk to see the church. It's not all the impressive and it's a lot further than it seems." Was like have a seasoned pro guide in the car with us.

I did a TON of research for my Iceland trip online. Searched for months and then bought this book. I should have done one or the other. It would have been easier just to buy this book and plan based on that. The book and my online research were duplicative.

I purchased this book in anticipation of a trip to Iceland. Even though the book is "used", I was pleasantly surprised of its condition upon arrival. I'm happy that I was able to support the Seattle Goodwill while also receiving an excellent book that was so helpful on my trip to Iceland.

These are the best gift for folks traveling to a new place. Always enjoy his insights on spots to see and places to stay

I just got back yesterday from 9 day ring road trip. This book was indispensable. I went clockwise as the book was arranged so easy to follow. Very useful info such as WC locations and if pay or free. This was my second trip to Iceland but the first time I missed several great sights as didn’t have this book. I stayed in several of his recommended lodgings as well as several air bnb I arranged. Use the direct booking info in the book as lodgings seem to prefer this. I travel a lot and Iceland was one of best vacations ever. The only negative of the book is he mentions things in miles but all the signs snd car rental odometers are in kilometers.

it's small and we will be able to travel with it. It looks really good although we haven't been to Iceland yet - we are going in the next couple of months. It seems to be very thorough.

Loved all the proposed itineraries, the recommended time to spend, and tips. Maybe more coloured photos would have been great.

If you're visiting Iceland don't even think of buying any other guide. I wasted ££ on the Berlitz and Rough Guides to Iceland which were IDENTICAL and really useless. I am a great fan of Rick Steves and I should have known better. He is the GO-TO man for travel guides. Just buy it!

Un guide très complet de l'Islande avec de nombreuses informations pratiques, des idées de programme et de nombreuses cartes. Le guide étant imprimé en noir et blanc, les illustrations (de petite taille) perdent beaucoup de leur intérêt.

Excellent book. We used it to complete our entire 11 day itinerary.

Esta es, sin duda, la mejor guía de viaje que tenido nunca. El nivel de detalle, las explicaciones detalladas, los consejos, los mapas… Es increíble. No es una guía de viaje al uso, sino que es el diario y consejos de una persona que ha viajado a todos esos sitios y que quiere compartir sus mejores experiencias. Gracias a la guía he podido reservar prácticamente todo el viaje y descubrir muchas cosas que no hubiese encontrado solamente navegando por Internet. Además, tienen un servicio de atención al cliente magnífico, les escribí preguntando si van a sacar una versión nueva de la guía o si debía comprar la guía y me dijeron que la nueva versión saldría en septiembre y que por lo tanto podría comprarla. Además, me dieron una página web donde publican correcciones de la guía actual para asegurar que está siempre actualizada. Lo dicho, increíble. Se ha convertido en mi primera opción de guías de viaje
