Great product, works awesome
This water pic is great, it has different power settings and it come with 2 types of tips (one tip type has a double for a total of 3 tips). I only use the water jet and not the gum line tip. If you have regular teeth and don't need anything special then one tip is all you need. Give it a week and you will get the hang of using it bc the 1st week I made a big mess with the water jet, It can be tricky to control and not get all the counter and mirror wet, but once you get the hang of it, the device is very handy and works great, better than the phillips sonic care airfloss (in my opinion) bc I like the continuos jet of water that you can feel cleaning. I use it every day at night before brushing my teeth, all the food particles fall right out. If you have dental pockets or hard to reach places this will clean and make your breath fresher. The 1st week can be tough and your gums will most likely bleed especially if you do not floss on the regular. Just start at the lowest setting and work your way up to a setting that is comfortable. The kit comes with 2 cups one for water and the other if you need to measure out medicine or any other type of liquid that requires dilution. I use mouthwash in the smaller cup and peroxide with water once a week in the large cup. The only issue that I don't like is that it can be a little loud where using it.

Works very well...
I am a late-comer to water flossing after being urged in this direction by my dentist for years. Finally purchased this after lots of research. It is amazing. Cleans teeth almost as well as a hygienist. Downside is that it is VERY noisy, but this is sort of to be expected because the water pump generates so much pressure - which means it works exceptionally well. Be careful using it initially and make sure the pressure is set the the lowest setting. At higher settings, the water jet is capable of actually cutting my tongue and other soft tissue. This is not a hypothetical statement ! Overall, it does take some practice to get used to using it effectively without injuring one's self and/or splashing water all over the bathroom; but it is absolutely worth it...

Great product!
I don't understand all the negative reviews of leakage, strength being temperamental, and noise level. After using machine for 3 months, I haven't experienced any of these negativities that others have written about. I use my waterpik 2 times daily every day and haven't experienced anything close to what others have complained of. IMHO, the Waterpik was the best investment in getting my oral health back on track in terms of really helping out my gum health. Since starting to use it 2x daily every day I have seen a real difference in the color of my gums turning from red and inflamed to more of a pink and healthy color, the bleeding has totally stopped, and gum sensitivity has steadily been decreasing. Even when I use regular string floss, I have noticed that there is less of a chance of bleeding, whereas before I would without a doubt always have bleeding that happened when flossing. After using this for the past 3 months, I have become almost addicted to the dentist-like clean feeling after each waterpik/brush session. After using both the waterpik and an electric toothbrush, I can walk away feeling almost as though I have just had a dental cleaning; it feels that much more clean than just brushing alone! It took me only a few times to start working up as to which power setting I wanted to use. After about 3 weeks I found myself using 4th power setting on a regular basis with no discomfort. I am starting to use 5th power setting on a more regular basis now, but not steadily. Hope to get to 5th power setting regularly in another week or 2. Machine is quieter than an older model I owned about 7 or 8 years ago, so they have made an improvement on quietness. I live in an older apartment complex where walls are thin and I haven't had any complaints from neighbors about me using the machine, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it being too loud for a small apartment bathroom such as mine that butts up next to your neighbors. Will give update after using it several more months to let you know if real problems start to appear. Overall, very happy with the machine and it's build quality overall! Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their oral health!

Good product! I'm addicted to this thing! Wish they would last longer before failing
Just switched to this unit after using the hand held battery operating unit for several years. At first, coming from the cordless battery operated unit I was used to not dealing with a hose and the bulkiness of the battery operated unit was nice for holding onto and directing the spray. But transitioning to the smaller "wand" hasn't been too difficult an adjustment. Especially considering the payoffs are many including not having to wait for batteries to charge (or forgetting to charge it), not refilling every 30 seconds and having multiple and more powerful settings to use. This unit can be messy with the small wand and high volume of water flow. But the pause button works as I would expect it to. Also, the cleaning I'm getting is worth being careful of making a mess. I generally have a large slop sink in my laundry room where its a perfect place to use my water pick. Hopefully this unit will last for years to come as my last battery operated unit lasted just over 2 years. Also, even though it lasted a 2 years sometimes it would get really finicky. Working fine one day and other days barely putting out pressure. Sometimes it even seemed like besides not having enough time to charge, it seemed like letting it charge too long was also not good. Just never quite knew how it would act on a given day? Having continuous power with this model should never be an issue again. As far as the noise is concerned it doesn't bother me. I'll trade noise for continuous and good power and a large water basin any day. EDIT 12/24/15. Unit started leaking from base 13 months after getting it. It was still operational. However, lost pressure and spraying water from base. I took the unit apart and made it so it wasn't leaking as bad (at least not spraying water from base anymore) and was still somewhat usable. Had less pressure and left a puddle after use. I went to Waterpiks website and submitted a warranty claim since unit has a 2 year warranty. Waterpik honored the warranty a couple days later and within a week and sent me a brand new WP-72 no questions asked and without returning the broken unit. Still very satisfied. This is probably my 5th/6th one I've had to replace is a decade. I love this thing and use frequently. After more than a decade of using Waterpik, there is no doubt about the benefits. I wish they would design them more for longevity. My latest one failed 3 years almost to the day (that's probably my longest run owning one of these). However, to be fair I'm a pretty heavy user (4-8 full fill-up runs per day). I had one fail at about 13 months and Waterpik warrantied it. Waterpik does state the lifespan is 12-24 months based upon usage, water quality, and if running anything besides water. I always only use city water (very occasionally well water). But, I am a heavy user so $50-$60 every couple years or so and I do get my money's worth. Not sure about longevity of other models? But, prior to exclusively choosing these units, I owned a couple hand helds that ran on battery and both of those failed at 2 years. So, I'd just say if you use a lot, don't expect a really long life. At least when they do break it is usually suddenly and they will run strong right up to the end.

Doesn't work for long...DO NOT BUY
Purchased 11/23/2024. Stopped working March 2025. My other old waterpik lasted years and years! Ugh! It either will not turn on OR if it does, no water comes out even though hose vibrates and makes sound. Amended 4/4/2025, just do not buy a "Waterpik"...this was $79.73 with tax. I went with Waterpik because my other one lasted years. I emailed Waterpik, they have responded...with questions: Answers are mine. How often do you use this unit per week or per day? Twice a day minimum. Does the pause button on the handle feel stuck at all, or does it click in and out properly? I have not noticed this to be honest. I now wonder. Have you ever cleaned the unit? If so, what was used to clean it and how often is it cleaned? Cleaned weekly, wash with warm water and dish detergent. Do you use any additives in the reservoir besides water? If so, what do you use? No, water only. Have you tried a new, unused tip in the handle since this issue occurred? Yes, used every tip I have from old waterpik to what came with this new one. Please provide a receipt or order invoice for your original purchase. Screen shot. Amazon. I do not remember it being this price. if that's the case, now, I'm really upset. Attached actual downloaded Amazon receipt. That is actually what I paid. UGH! Now, new instructions on what they need:Typically if the water flow is intermittent to this degree, it may be the pause button on the handle. I would like to try some troubleshooting to see if we can return functionality to your pause button: Remove the tip from the top of the handle. Fill up a cup or glass with a 1:1 solution of white vinegar and warm water. Place the handle in the solution and allow it to soak for 15-30 minutes. Rinse the handle under warm water and attempt to use the unit as normal. Press in the pause button a few times to see if this affects the water flow. C'mon, replace my $80.00 Waterpik.

Comfortable and Easy to Use, But Doesn't Last Long
I've purchased the Waterpik Classic Professional Water flosser to improve my oral care. I used it for two days and it made a noticeable difference by providing fresh breath and a clean overall feeling inside my mouth. Of the six settings advertised, only the first three worked. However, the third setting provided enough pressure for what would be medically necessary, while the higher setting could have potentially damaged my gums. The contols were easy to adjust and the three accompanying tips allowed me to target both general flossing and tight spaces. The reservoir is easy to fill, clean and will provide a complete irrigation for the whole with one refill. My gums feel healthier and my teeth feel cleaner than ever after each use. Overall, this water flosser would have become an essential part of my dental routine, had it not started leaking.Don't get me wrong, Waterpik is a great brand, but this particular model seems to be on the lower end when it comes to quality. I would purchase another Waterpik irrigator, but I'll choose a higher-end model next time.
