Works well, would have liked one with more power if available.

QTX lamps are very good, this CFL style wood's glass lamp provides true 365nm long wave UV-A with very little visible light, ideal for a long wave fluorescent mineral display. I have two 20W and one 15W lamps in my fairly compact display, this provides enough UV for viewing in normal room lighting, however it is better in low ambient lighting. The lamp take about five minutes to reach full output which is to be expected. The tubes don't get very warm, however the ballast at the base does get quite hot, although not enough to burn when touched. Just make sure there's plenty ventilation and it won't overheat, they are designed to be used in enclosures. 15W traditional 365nm tubes can provide a more even light, but for a compact display such as mine the CFL style is excellent, and you don't need additional ballast or starters. Overall I would recommend these for a fluorescent mineral display.

This bulb seems to give off quite a lot of UV light with very little visible light. The bulb does glow blue, but a lot less visible light than LED UV torches I have used. You would only need one of these in a room to make any fluorescent things glow. I bought it for some photography of glowing objects, and overall very happy with it. Looking forward to putting it in the front room with some glow in the dark pumpkins for Halloween!
