Nice charms, weak chains
The charms and chains all look nice and shiny, and the 3 pieces of the heart chime fit together nicely (they don't lock together, since they're meant to be worn separately by 3 people; but if you line them up on a table, they do visually form a heart, just as the photos in the product description shows). The charms also feel nice and solid -- they seem like decent, solid little pieces of metal that aren't going to easily bend or break like plastic alternatives. And the words on each charm (Best, Friends, and Forever, respectively) are nicely etched in, so they're not going to rub off like on some charms where the text of picture is just painted on... However, there are two problem points: First, each charm comes with a tiny little jewel (which I think is plastic, but might be glass) -- one blue, one pink, one green. These look nice when first taken out of the package (relatively speaking -- as nice as one can probably expect for kids jewelry at a low price)... But within one day of wearing the charms, my kids found that most of the color seemed to have worn off. From them touching the jewels? From sweat? From water? I don't know, but they went from being vibrant colors to being clear like glass, with a hint of color left around the edges. So I'm guessing the color was painted on with some not very durable translucent paint. However -- it doesn't look bad! Not a big deal. You'd have to look really closely and compare the jewels to how they originally looked, to even notice that they'd changed. It's subtle, not a dealbreaker. But speaking of breaking -- the chains are very weak. This is the real problem... A link on one of the chains broke as I was gently taking the necklace out of the package. The second chain broke while I was putting it on my daughter. The third chain broke the next day while my daughter was wearing it... This is a common problem with cheap necklaces -- so I wasn't expecting the chains to last forever, but, wow, these break fast! If you've got some tiny jewelry pliers (BeadSmith has some nice ones here on Amazon, but there are a lot of options from other brands as well) it's easy enough to fix chain links by bending the loops back together -- so that's what I've been doing so far. But if they keep breaking this frequently, I guess I'll need to move the charms onto better chains before the kids lose them completely when the necklaces inevitably break without them noticing while they're wearing them. So that's a nuisance, and a waste of chain materials if they have to be tossed -- I'd reconsider buying any necklaces from this brand until they upgrade the chain strength. Although the problem is that most alternative charm necklaces anywhere close to this price-point tend to have weak chains as well, and even some of the pricier ones can end up with weak chains (although this is the fastest I've seen a necklace break, and then they broke three times over within 24 hours, so that's either especially poor quality of very bad luck haha). It's hard to determine who actually has good quality necklaces by just looking at pictures on here. Anyway, the charms are good, and the price is decent, so for a toy necklace these aren't bad -- just be prepared to repair or replace the chains.

all 3 broke when putting them on.
Cheap. All three necklaces fell apart when trying to put them on. Talk about disappointed little girls. Spend a little extra and get the nicer ones.
