Heavy duty with good grips. It does what it's supposed to do quite well.

I won't review a lot of things until after they've been in use for a good long time. I work as a telco tech- my tools see constant and often hard use in all kinds of weather. These still work. When they go under, I'll probably buy another set. I use them on "C" wire and on steel-strand self-support aerial wire- no problem. Not meant for delicate tasks- the same thing that gives them good durability- their broad jaws- makes them too chunky for tight places.

This is the best cutting tool I've ever owned - bar none. The reason it's the third one I purchased is because after discovering what a wonderful tool this is, I got one for my son and, most recently another for my wife, who has taken up leather work. It never ceases to amaze me what I am able to cut with this tool nor the ease with which things can be cut. Excellent value for the money.

Irwin/Vice-Grip has always delivered on quality and this product is no exception. These side cutters cost a fraction of the price and are way better than the Snap-On set I've owned for many years. Even when the Snap-On set was new, they wouldn't cut as easily as these do. I've used these daily at work since purchased and have absolutely no complaints. They'll easily cut through anything from plastic ties, to thicker wire, to steel cotter pins with minimal effort and without damage to the cutter. Excellent!

After purchasing my 7" side cutters and using them extensively for about 2 months, well past the Amazon 30 day warranty, I noticed a problem with them in that in some cases they didn't cut cleanly. I wrote to Irwin U.S.A. thinking that here comes the run around. But to my surprise after a few questions and photo's that were requested, they were replaced. A simple procedure, dealing with pleasant people.

Decent side cutters for the price

Feels comfortable in my hand and appears that the hardened steel will last.
