Assorted Japanese Junk Food Snack "Umaibo" 100 Packs of 11 Types

I ordered these because the flavors sounded interesting, and I wasn't disappointed! I decided to rate each flavor and give a small profile of how it tasted. As a small note, almost every flavor was sweeter than i was expecting, but not in a bad way! Cheese(White wrapper with a singer and sunflowers) - 4/5 - Tasted like a lighter flavored puffy cheeto, not bad but could have a stronger flavor. Pizza(green/red/white wrapper with a chef and pizza) - 0/5 - This one I couldn't stand, it just tasted like weird sausage. Corn Potage(light yellow wrapper with a chef and corn) - 6/5 - DELICIOUS! This was like corn pudding, sweet creamy corn with a hint of onion. Vegetable Salad(dark green wrapper with a clown) - 4/5 - It tasted like caesar salad dressing, not bad, but it could be a little stronger. Teriyaki Burger(yellow/red wrapper with a chef carrying hamburgers) - 3/5 - Holy teriyaki! This was a really strong sweet teriyaki flavor, cant really see where the burger part comes in though? Chicken Curry(orange with the character holding a plate of curry) - 5/5 - Yum! Tasted exactly like a curry sauce(think chicken tikka), the weird sweetness that all of the flavors have actually added to the taste here. Chicken Yakitori(a guess)(Gold with the character holding skewered meat) - 5/5 - This was different from the other flavors in that it seemed to have a flavor sauce instead of a powder, it tasted exactly like grilled chicken! Salami(Orange with a robot dog) - 0/5 - Bleh, same weird sausage flavor as the pizza, but with a plastic-y aftertaste. Gyu-Tan(beef tongue)(Orange with a cow) - 0/5 - Kinda like the teriyaki flavor, but the strong plastic afterstaste of the salami, and also a flavor i cant put my finger on, horseradish i think? Tonkatsu(blue with an astronaut and a pig shaped spaceship - 2/5 - A light, grilled flavor, with some garlic, but it also has a weird sour note. Takoyaki(Red with a fighting octopus on the front) - 3.5/5 - Has the same type of sauce flavor as the yakitori, grilled and herby. Ebimayo(shrimp and mayonaise)(Red with a fisherman) - -10/5 - Oh dear god it taste exactly like shrimp and mayonaise. Mentaiko(cod roe)(purple with a mad scientist) - 2/5 - I was expecting this to be as fishy and bad as the ebimayo, but it just tasted like weak paprika and garlic. Sugar Rusk(white with a soccer player) - 5/5 - Like a really buttery cookie, the only actually sweet flavor in the bunch. All in all, i'd definitely get this package again! Also, I ended up getting 14 flavors instead of 11!

Most delicious corn puff snacks in the world!

Very good! I had tried the tonkatsu sauce in a subscription box and I've become hooked. In my box I got corn potage, chicken curry, teriyaki burger, vegetable salad, tonkatsu sauce, sugar rusk, salami, cheese, mentaiko, takoyaki, and one with a design I haven't been able to match. Judging by the taste, I assume it's the shrimp and mayo just with a new design. These things are seriously addictive and I plan on buying more packs! The tonkatsu sauce and chicken curry have just a slight spicy flavor, but they're more sweet than spicy so it isn't overpowering. My favorites are the tonkatsu sauce, corn potage, teriyaki burger, and mentaiko. My least favorite are the cheese and shrimp and mayo flavors, but all the others are pretty good! Once you start snacking on them it's hard to stop. There's enough good flavors here to give this a 5 star review rather than a 4, there's only one flavor I absolutely can't eat (shrimp and mayo), and there's a great variety so I'm not just stuck with that flavor.

It's a nice variety of umaibo, and they arrived early. They were loose in the box (no bag, but there's really no need for one, and there were the right amount of umaibo.) There were 11 flavors as promised, all still fresh, with a couple even being the chocolate ones. Our opinions on the flavors (extra info): 1. Pizza (hallow) - Good. Surprising sweet tomato flavor, with a little spice. But not really pizza-like. 2. Sugar Rusk (solid) - Rather good, might be the best of the regular flavors. Like a buttery kettle corn. 3. Takoyaki/Octopus Dumpling (hallow) - Meh. Kind of off-brand ketchup flavored with hint of octopus/squid-like flavor. - How do you know it's octopus? 4. Chocolate (smaller, hallow) - This is one the best bad things I've had. It's just a plain corn puff covered in the cheap sort of chocolate you get on prepacked donuts, but that's a pretty satisfying combination. 5. Mentai/Pollock Roe (hallow) - Good. Better then I expected, a salty flavor more like American BBQ chips then fish eggs, but with a hint of fishiness. 6. Tonkatsu Sauce/BBQ (hallow) - Alright. Kind of a spicy ketchup flavor, which is about what I expected. 7. Corn Pottage/Soup (hallow) - Good. Smells like fresh corn on the cob, tastes good too, but honestly smells better then it tastes. - Tastes just like creamed corn. 8. Veggie Salad (hallow) - Kind of disappointing. Really salty and doesn't really remind me of any salad I've ever had. 9. Shrimp and Mayo (hallow) - Not great, it's kind of like bland freezer burnt shrimp and really cheap sour mayo. - Blech! The flavors I had earlier today tasted better, this one's just gross. 10. Natto/Red Bean Paste (hallow) - Tastes just like natto, which I don't like, so yuck, but I also think it's spot on, so if you like that stuff go for it. 11. Cheese (hallow) - Pretty satisfying. Sweeter then Cheetos, with plenty of cheese flavor, but not as sharp a cheese. Not as greasy either. - It's just like a giant Cheeto.

Love the product. Shipping packaging is lousy, as many of the product was smashed. Bubble wrap packaging would be better. Box was beat up, one corner started to open 1 inch. Ordered 2 but was sent 1 and refunded one. ???

All of the snacks came in undamaged and I got a good variety, roughly around 11 flavors with 4 or 5 of each give or take. I am allergic to seafood so I gave those flavors to my nephew and he really like the purple colored one the best. Snacks are light and airy and have a good crunch to them. I haven't tried all the flavors yet but overall they are a little sweeter than what I was expecting. Definitely worth it since they are only 60 calories with really good texture. I enjoy the designs on the packages and they brighten up my lunch box

So this is a 100pc pack of Umaibo, which is super nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood. I got 11 flavors in my order, but as I learnt from other reviews, it's random, and you might get different flavors from me. Mine had the following flavors: -Mentaiko -Vegetable Salad -Cheese -Chocolate -Natto -Shrimp Mayonnaise -Pizza -Takoyaki -Tonkatsu -Corn Pottage -Sugar Rusk There were ten pieces for most of the flavors, except for two (5 each). I pretty much loved all the flavors and I'm going through them so quick! Delivery took some time because it was shipped in from Japan, but so worth the wait! I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering this again when I run out! Here's a pic of the full box laid out (note that I already ate a bunch of them by now!). My kids LOVE these. We have gotten them in internal snack boxes from Japan and they devoured them. Finding these on Amazon was a wonderful surprise. My kids have dubbed them "Japanese Cheetos". Worth every penny
