The Best Of All Princeton Brushes
I’ve been trying out all of Princeton’s brushes, trying to find the right feel. I wanted one that holds a lot of water, so I tried the Neptune, which was supposed to be the best for holding a lot of water. It was just a bit too soft for me and didn’t snap back to shape. I tried the Princeton Aqua Elite, which is the most expensive and again, too soft. So, then I tried the Princeton ‘Snap’ line. That one was too stiff and I couldn’t get a nice clean tip, plus it didn’t hold much water. I finally order this Velvet Touch brush. Perfect! It holds a great amount of water, is soft when you are making brush strokes, then returns to its original shape. It also comes to a nice gradual point, instead of abruptly. The handle feels good (hence, the name) and it has nice balance. The other thing I love about this brush is that others left a tiny puddle of paint at the end of the brush stroke, but this doesn’t. I don’t find myself needing to go back and pick up the excess water. You can see in the photo how nicely paint flows from this brush. I love it and will be purchasing other sizes once they become available on Amazon. I got the size 8 and find that it does just about everything except very fine detail. I know brushes are so subjective to the artist, but I’m just so happy to have found the one I love! Sorry Amazon, for the multiples returns.

Excellent round brush
As far as I can tell (I’m not an expert by any means, but I’ve been painting with watercolors for about a year), this is a superb brush. You can split an atom with the point of it. Well, not really, but it’s very pointy, and given that it’s a Princeton brush I assume it’ll last a long time. The Velvetouch handle is nice and soft. The size was just what I needed—I was looking for a medium sized brush in between my size 6 and 16 brushes, and this was exactly right. All in all I am very happy with this brush. Oh and it came with a plastic thing to go over the bristles so the point doesn’t get damaged, which is important.

Great brush for the price!
I have many watercolor brushes, but this is my go-to brush. It holds its shape, has an excellent reservoir for continuous painting and comes to a consistent point even after many uses.

Arrived broken 😞
This appears to be a great brush for watercolor. Good, all-purpose size, soft bristles with a little “snap” to them, appears as if it will hold a decent amount of water and pigment, but…. Mine arrived with a broken handle (see photos). The brush was simply thrown haphazardly into an envelope with no padding or protection whatsoever, so it’s not that surprising that it was broken—just disappointing. I returned for replacement, hopefully the next one will be packaged better and arrive undamaged. I’ll come back to edit my review after getting a chance to paint with it, providing I don’t receive another broken one!

Great Product
I love Princeton brushes. They are of high quality. The brush is well balanced, feels good and has very good bristles. I use the brushes with both water color and acrylic. The cut of the bristles, the density and the shape of the head carries a good deal of paint yet allows for fine and delicate application. And the Amazon price was a little less than the brushes cost on other sites. This is my go-to brush.

Great brush
This brand and size was recommended by a watercolor artist on YouTube I’m following. I’ve done watercolor since the early 1990’s but akways used sable brushes. Things are different now so I’ll be picking up some more round brushes by this company. Nice point and spring.
