Color Christmas Coloring Book: Perfectly Portable Pages (On-The-Go!) (Design Originals) Holiday Art Designs on Perforated Pages; Convenient 5x8 Size is Perfect to Take Along Everywhere

This coloring book is smaller book filled with 28 fun and festive Christmas Designs. I have this and Christmas Coloring Book (a full size coloring book) both just released by Thaneeya McArdle. At first glance, one would think that a number of these designs are simply scaled down versions of what is in the larger format book. While that may be true for a few, there are a good number that are simply similar and have details that range from slightly to very different from the other book. There is a lovely range of designs, including Santas, elves, Christmas trees, stockings, fireplace and mantle and even a nutcracker (one of my favorites and the one I will color first.) The size of this book is perfect for fitting in my purse, backpack, etc. to take along with a set of colored pencils. The book is also a great size to use as a stocking stuffer gift. It, along with an inexpensive set of colored pencils, would be a good Secret Santa gift exchange present. In addition to the designs, the artist has included lessons in patterning, color techniques and media as well as basic color theory at the front of the book, along with some great color examples (some of which I will show in my attached video.) The lessons are generic to the line but the samples are specific to this book. The pages are white and are perforated for easy removal. The designs are printed on one side only with holiday and inspiration quotes on the back side. Many of the quotes are from holidays songs and movies which are really fun to read – especially the movie quotes as they bring to mind the whole story. Below the quotes are lines which the colorist can use to journal their own thoughts and feelings. All of my markers and gel pens wick through these pages. If I use either of them, I will put a piece of thicker paper (chipboard, cardstock, etc.) or freezer paper under the page I am working on to keep the following page from getting ink on it.

This coloring book is very small. It’s only 4 inches by maybe 6 inches. The pictures in it are adequate for Christmas pictures and it can be used for adults or children.

It’s a good coloring book I guess BUT it’s small! Tiny! I thought it would be normal size but I clearly did not read the size description, oops.

Petfect just what I was wanting

Very cute coloring book. There are a lot of nice pictures to color in this book. Note: This is not a full sized book, it is smaller than normal, to make it more portable ( fits in a purse). I knew this in advance, and it was okay with me, but others did not read the full description, and were surprised by the smaller size.

Pictures were a lot more "simple" than I expected, from the sample pages. This would be great for children but I was hoping for a little more interesting designs. I do love the size of the book, though. I've only used pencils because I'm not sure the paper is thick enough to prevent bleeding with markers. The good thing is that there is a drawing on only one side of the paper so you could put a piece of parchment or wax paper behind the page to prevent any bleed issues.

My family just loves these coloring books!! Particularly this one because of it's smaller size - it's not overwhelming for my kids (ages 9,7 and 5) and they can finish a coloring page quicker than some of the other larger books of this style. Very cute and fun holiday pictures. Great for girls and boys alike!! Highly recommend.

I love the smaller doable size of the book. The paper is quality, the designs are done in a nice bold black. The designs are inviting and inspirational, well done! I bought this originally for a seven year old neighbor. Flipping through it, I found myself wanting to color it! It was so nice that I ordered three more books for my grandchildren ranging in age from seven to sixteen. I ordered a nice mini case of colored pencils to go with each book. They’ll love it! They will rejoice! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Great colouring book

I had to return it as the book was too small for me but the pictures were awesome

The drawing are really cute, and I love the fact that they are on one side only. The book is smaller than a regular book, but that's okay for me and perfect for the kids!

It's a cute book with a zendoodlie feel to it - not my favourite type of colouring. I used Crayola, gel pen and marker Paper curls and sucks ink in. Coloured pencils smear easy. Takes gel pen nicely. Colour with a page underneath.
