My son had fun lacing the apple with the cute caterpillar. I wouldn’t say the size is heavy, but it is a lot for little hands to hold. He mostly laced it with either me holding it or while it was in his lap.My biggest issue is the poor paint job. As can be seen in my pictures, the paint on either side doesn’t even cover the stem or leaf. I hope this doesn’t lead to chipping over time. Concept is great, but the quality could be improved to push it to five stars.Overall. it’s a fun educational tool for learning about apples or just practicing fine motor skills.

Kept my 1 year old quietly occupied on multiple plane rides. It’s a cute toy with great bright colors. Good for traveling or whenever you need some quiet time. Full disclosure, it does sometimes become a projectile when she helicopters it around by the string, but that’s to be expected with a 1 year old!

The media could not be loaded. I thought the concept of this toy was adorable and when I saw it in someone’s bag of toys for taking kids out to restaurants, I immediately bought it. I’m iffy on this one because it’s a really cute idea and I love the overall look of this toy, but the details just don’t do it for me. The string feels really thin, but still very safe - I’ve pulled on it really hard and it didn’t feel like it was going to break or come loose, but it still worries me. My son is 14 months, so this would probably be better for an older toddler. The wood construction and size of the apple is great, but the paint will chip when your toddler inevitably swings it around and hits it against things. I think this is still a good toy, with supervision.
