The installation was easy, however the only hard part was up and ...
I recently had to replace the vent covers for my utility trailer...again! The vents I had open up to let air in, and were an somewhat opaque white plastic. I have had to replace them twice in the last 3 years. Recently, I drove my trailer and by the time I had reached my destination (just a few miles), those old vent white covers had disintegrated...again. So I went with these grey vent covers, which cover the entire vent hole opening and then some. They have UV protection so I'm hoping they last, as this is an outdoor trailer that sits or moves in the sun and weather all the time, including harsh Lake Michigan winters. The installation was easy, however the only hard part was up and down the ladder several times carrying the tools and covers. I would recommend a partner for this. They look absolutely amazing! And if you don't want the logo on them, you can just peal it off. I did have one issue, and that was the hardware was missing on one of the covers... I think this was just an Amazon issue, so I didn't lower my rating because of this. Amazon said they couldn't just send me the hardware----I had to send them cover missing the hardware, and they would send me a replacement. Trouble was that the replacement wouldn't come for another 2 days, and we were having thunderstorms here. So that kind of sucked. But all well that ends well, and hopefully this will, as I'm hoping I get more years out of these, then he crappy ones I had before. Oh, and I have no leaking, even though I only have these covering the vent holes on my trailer. Cheers!

Great product
Great purchase for my fifth wheel. Although it was on my list of items to do, I didn't install this until I had to start paying for electricity in my trailer. I could immediately feel the difference in the bathroom, the dark cover definitely dropped the temperature during the sunny parts of the day. The exhaust can also be used when it is raining outside now as this blocks any water from entering the trailer. It was fairly easy to install, my trailer was set up to install one of these so I didn't have to drill any holes. It was a small space and a little difficult to start the hardware but other than that, simple and quick. Definitely recommend for every trailer, whether or not you pay for electricity. Update: This has been in use through the summer, about four months. I have left it open many times during rain, some very heavy. I have not noticed any rain enter the RV at all.

Improvise a bit
Very easy to install. I put it over a fan-tastic? You can’t open the vent all the way but I never do any way and it opens as much if not more so that’s fine. I did have to improvise and use self tapping metal screws to attach the braces to the vent frame because the frame has an inner frame so you wouldn’t be able to use the nut and bolt method. The only negative is the amount of glue used to stick the bag of parts to the inside for packaging. it’s a big glob stuck in there that’s not coming out but you can’t see it so oh well.

Easy install
Had a bad one on my camper. Took old one off. This was a direct fit. No drilling. Just unbolted the old one and slapped on the new one. Help up good so far

Made in USA great customer service
As with ALL plastic things mounted on the roof of an RV left in full sun, I expect to replace it in 8-10 years. Look on line for installation videos. Unfortunately after CAMCO sends these to Amazon, packaging is out of their control. My vent cover came on an over size box and arrived undamaged. The hardware package Unfortunately didn't arrive in as good condition. Amazon hot glued it to something (not sure what) and the hot melt glue caused a rip in the package. Some of the washers and nuts were lost in transit. For me this wasn't a problem as I worked at a Fastenal store and purchased what I needed and actually upgraded the nuts to a K lock with star lock washer attached. If you have to replace any hardware, be sure to use stainless steel. I called CAMCO and after a prompt or two, I was connected to a live person right here in the states. Very responsive to my situation and explained that Amazon loses these parts often and he could send out a new pack right away. I told him I had the brackets and bolts and I just purchased the nuts and washers so there was no need, I just wanted to make sure they knew. He was thankful for the information so he could get on Amazon about it. As far as the vent cover itself, it is good quality. I installed a different brand on another trailer. The other one was all one piece. The CAMCO has a removable vent panel that allows cleaning without removing the whole thing. It's slightly lower that the other brand but allows for adequate clearance to open the vent almost all the way. It's made in the U.S.A. so that is an added bonus. I would highly recommend this for any roof top RV vent so to can keep your vent open in light to moderate rains.

Cooler temps in the RV
I did not care at first that these were smoke colored and not white to match my RV roof. I bought 4 of the smoke colored vent covers as they were the lowest priced on the 5 different colors Camco sells. They are on the roof so who cares what color they are right? Now that they are installed, which is very easy to do by the way Drill four holes and attach four bolts and your done for each one, the smoke colored vent covers help block out some of that hot Texas sunlight and shades the original vents they are covering, Now I can open my vents and not worry if it is raining or if the wind is kicking up. I got all 4 for around $80, so I was happy with the color after all.

I haven’t actually installed this vent yet as it is too cold in this part of the world... I have purchased and installed this identical cover on a travel trailer and it is an excellent product. Relatively simple to install and very good quality. Allows the roof vent to be left open regardless of the weather. I leave mine open all through a Canadian winter to provide air circulation and prevent condensation.
