This just my opinion/experience. They come packed flat inside individual zip-top bags (a bonus gift for me because I hoard transparent bags in which to organize student homework, handouts, etc...), and they snap together in less than a minute. They are staying together well and have solved my dilemma of not having enough test tube racks to use in my class. No more clanking of glass test tubes into beakers that doubled as test tube racks! These are made of plastic, NOT plastic-coated wire, so using them for holding or heating test tubes will create a mess and a safety hazard. I bought the smaller sized ones because we have hundreds of 5 inch centrifuge tubes (donated) that I can now use for the investigations we do in my middle school class.
