Interesting Stories For Curious People: A Collection of Fascinating Stories About History, Science, Pop Culture and Just About Anything Else You Can Think of Review: Hot topics and fun tales to stimulate and entertain - Author Bill O’Neill has authored many books on Trivia and stands as somewhat of an expert in this field! His topics include movies, football, baseball, wars, rock music, simply random trivia facts and US States. Now with a nod to providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, Bill offers a cascade of stories that provide not only entertainment but also so educational topics! Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Bill outlines his content in the Introduction – ‘This book will introduce you to some of the strangest facts on the face of the earth. You’ll learn about a Kansas town that people claim is so haunted that many call it the “Gateway to Hell,” as well as an urban myth about a Soviet drilling expedition that may – or may not have – opened a portal to Hell. You’ll learn about historical facts that were more than likely overlooked in your history classes. How Alexander the Great dies, how Cleopatra died, what happened to American Indian leader Sequoya, and the truth about Christopher Columbus’ expedition are just a few of the historical stories you’ll read about…You’ll read about a star that is many times bigger and brighter than our own, what will happen when computers become self-aware, what causes “brain freeze,” and how the government has been actively searching for extraterrestrials.’ And if that tasty intro doesn’t convince you to explore this fascinating book, add in stories about pop culture, sports stories about athletes, and even a few true crime tales to boot. Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill O’Neill’s talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read – one of his best. Interesting Stories For Curious People: Because Your Brain Deserves a Snack
If you’re one of those “curious people” (and who isn’t?), this collection promises to feed your brain with fascinating nuggets from history. It’s like the TED Talk of bedtime reading—without the fancy speakers or PowerPoint slides. Perfect for impressing friends at parties with random facts no one asked for or for sounding smarter in Zoom meetings when you drop a “Did you know?” bomb. Spoiler: some stories will make you go “Wait, that actually happened?” and others will just confirm that history is basically one wild soap opera after another. If you want to feel like a trivia master and finally have something to say besides “I don’t know,” this book’s got you covered. Just don’t blame me if you suddenly start interrupting conversations with random historical facts.

I sent this back. I bought it for my 10 year old boy but when I flipped through it I realized it was too adult for that age.

A wonderful collection of stories for the curious you may want to check out.
As someone who has been a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge for more than 7 decades my interests range from the hard traditional scientific to the often strange esoteric. This is why while browsing on Amazon when I came across this 228-page soft cover book (Interesting stories for curious people by Bill O’Neill) I decided to purchase it. Even though I was familiar with many of these fascinating stories; nevertheless, I loved this book because of the sheer volume of material it contains on a wide variety of stories. The other thing I loved about this book is that each story is short and concise, which makes for easy and enjoyable reading. Some of the interesting stories include the following: “E.T. are you out there, how did Superman die, the hole into hell, the haunted town, the city that wouldn’t die, I’m Billy the kid, not your average aliens, the deadliest comet, animals that don’t age, iceberg alley, the sky Samurai, bombs away” and many, many other intriguing stories. If you love reading about unusual and fascinating stories you may want to check out this book. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Bland, uninteresting and no bibliography included - probably written by AI. Don’t fall for it!
