I was looking for a pair of sturdy gardening gloves that would fit small hands and would not let thorns through. You may think this is a lot to ask, but I found these gardening gloves to tick all boxes, as well as being great value for money. These gloves are sturdy, great to work with if you need to do some de-weeding jobs and you have roses, berries, prickly thistle or nettles in your garden/allotment as you'll be surprised, nothing has gone through it, neither thorns or prickly plants. I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for some heavy duty, but comfortable gloves as for this price tag, they are a great addition to your gardening kit I believe!

These thick, fat gloves are made of cowhide leather and designed for gardening and building work. They extend gauntlet-style over your wrists so will protect from rose thorns while pruning and from other spikey, unwelcome intrusions like thistles. They are very good for general gardening work like handling tree branches or picking up a pile of leaves and twigs, as they effectively enlarge your hands to greater capacity. They are also perfect as fire gloves, to protect your hands while inserting logs into a hot wood burner, and we always keep a pair next to the stove for this purpose. A note of caution is that the material thickness on the backs of the fingers is thinner than on the front, probably to offer better flexibility and dexterity. This is not usually an issue when in use, as the area which contacts whatever you’re engaged with has much thicker material, but you should be aware of it. Buy a pair one size larger than your usual size: these will not only be more comfortable and practical but will be easier to put on and pull off.

Grasp the nettle! And you can with these gloves. Brambles too. They are too big - my fault. I bought the medium size. I should have bought small. These are more men's size. Nice and thick and help immensely when pulling out the weeds.

The stitching on one of the fingers on one of the gloves came apart on 2nd use but when I raised it with the seller they were very responsive and sent a replacement pair straight away. Good customer service!

Really hard wearing and completely thornproof. Great for handling rough wood, rubble and brambles. Good size for ladies or those with with smaller hands. They frayed a little around the top edge at the wrist but this doesn't affect use

I made the mistake of ordering the large size. So they are very loose to wear. The gloves aren't waterproof. They're not the best value as I got a two pack pair for barely £2 more and are a perfect fit

Die Handschuhe werden in einwandfreiem Zustand geliefert, machen einen qualitativ sehr guten Eindruck, verströmen allerdings einen intensiven Geruch nach Leder und Chemie. Sie sind recht dick, Handfläche, Daumen und Zeigefinger sind mit einer zweiten Lederschicht verstärkt und die Handschuhe damit auf grobe, schwere Arbeiten ausgelegt - filigranes Arbeiten wie z. B. das gezielte Unkrautzupfen einzelner Halme zwischen anderen Pflanzen ist mit ihnen nicht möglich. Innen im Handschuh sind die Handfläche und die einzelnen Finger an der Innenseite mit einem weichen Futter ausgelegt, das einerseits im Winter ein wenig wärmt, darüber hinaus natürlich nochmals die Innenhand beim Greifen scharfkantiger Dinge oder spitzer Dornen schützt. Ich habe die Handschuhe heute Morgen beim jährlichen Setzen mehrerer Raummeter Kaminholz getragen und finde sie klasse. Die Lederfläche ist griffig und hat vor Splittern und abstehenden Holzfasern zuverlässig geschützt. Das Leder an den Fingerkuppen von Mittelfinger, Ringfinger und kleinem Finger ist nun etwas anraut, aber vollständig intakt, an den verstärkten Stellen sind lediglich Verfärbungen zu sehen, das Leder ist in keinster Weise angegriffen oder beschädigt. Anfangs waren die Handschuhe etwas steif, was sich jedoch in kürzester Zeit gelegt hat. Die Verlängerung aus festem Gewebe am unteren Rand der Handschuhe hat meine Handgelenke zusätzlich geschützt, sodass ich diese Tätigkeit dieses Jahr erstmals ohne jede Verletzung an den Händen durchgeführt habe. Natürlich sind die Handschuhe auch für viele andere grobe Arbeiten geeignet - nach dem heutigen Einsatz gehe ich von einer hohen Lebenserwartung der Handschuhe aus, die den Anschaffungspreis von knapp 15 dann auch rechtfertigen.

Used for moving very rough heavy rock and stood up better than way more expensive gloves. I now have 3 pairs, but the first pair just won’t wear out. If you get some that feel uncomfortable because of excess leather inside, just return for another pair because they really are comfortable. I had to return one pair, but the replacement was great.
