I have sewn for 63 years and the first machine I bought was a used Brother back in the 70’s. I used that machine for about 30 years until I bought a computerized machine. I then gave it to my sister. She used it for another 15 years before I purchased a new machine for her. I’ve known for a while I needed a smaller more portable machine than the honkin’ big heavy sewing/embroidery machine I purchased about 15 years ago. Sadly I have not had it serviced or updated for about 10 years and it quit working on me right in the middle of a large nest of jeans repairs. I went on desertcart and chose this model because I thought it would handle what I need to do until my other is back up and running. I am not disappointed. Straight out of the box everything works and sews beautifully. The instructions are clear and everything I’ve sample stitched is great. FYI Brother, the only 2 complaints I have aren’t critical just something you might improve on. 1) the light could be brighter 2) I’m having difficulty using the threader. The finger push or whatever you want to call it feels flimsy to me. When I push down to rotate the thread into the needle eye I hesitate as it feels like it’s bending under the pressure. Sewers I’m very happy with this Brother. It’s easy to operate and stitches beautifully. It’s lightweight has a carry case and does everything I need. I anticipate it will serve me well for many years. I’ve hade zero issues with tension or the bobbin. It struggles just a tad over thick seams (bag making) but I knew that before buying.
