For best results, I've learned to have two rags handy: one to apply the oil, and another to immediately wipe off any excess. Otherwise, it can be too thick and somewhat "gunky." I prefer to apply a coat of the oil and let the instrument sit in open air for at least 24 hours... then do a second application using the same method. Wait another day and do a third application. I seems to take about a week of being in open air for the finish to really cure out. The wait is worth it, and "easy-to-use-Tru-Oil" delivers a professional protective finish at a fraction of the cost of spray-on lacquer. Review: Tru-oil created a nice coating! I had one small bottle and did a Stratocaster guitar neck and two cigar box 25" necks. It is nearly empty.
