This toolset is not bad for a beginner like me to use for putting down LVT. The rubber mallet feels great in your hand and works excellent to pop the floor into the joint. The metal pull bar works great but is a little on the thicker side if you're in a super tight spot it can be hard to fit but leaving a gap it works fantastic. The spacers are handy but i opted to not use them with my setup since I needed to adjust the floors course so it would be even on both sides of my room (OCD kicked in with this one haha) so I needed to have a 1.5" width on my course at both sides of the room to make it completely even with the room. My only slight complaint and I only am taking 1 star out of it because it might work better for thicker flooring than the 20mil flooring I installed, but the tapping block was impossible for me to use. I ended up just locking most courses in by hand or using a slight tap with a scrap piece on the end inside the tongue/groove and the rubber mallet to tap the course in and get it to lock in place. The tapping block is too light and lacks a handle to help you slide it on the tile. What I did get the tapping block to help with was to use a scrap piece of floor inside the groove and tap the block on the flat cut end of the flooring to tap it in.

I got this set to help with putting in my flooring and was Not disappointed. All itemwork as intended and I like that the little wedges are notched. It help with keeping the spacing I needed between the wall and the flooring. I am very glad I made this purchase.

Nice kit. Worth the price. Shipped fast. Durability is great holds up well even after 2000 sq ft of floor . Light weight. Size makes it easy to work with. Only complaint is Wall spacer need to be taped don’t stay by themselves felt they are a bit o the cheap side . Bought a couple packs from home***o that were great made the job go fast. Over all a great kid for the price. Would recommend for diy .

Just finished installing over 500 square feet of LVP flooring. I can’t imagine doing this without a kit like this—particularly the block and puller. It would not have been a quality install without these. The knee pads were better than ones I bought at the store for many more $$$ but I didn’t wear them much. I work in shorts so they irritated the back of my legs; I suspect they would be fine with long pants. The spacers didn’t really help me—partly because there was such a gap already under my Sheetrock. And the hammer worked but one end fell off partway through. A regulare hammer works just fine.

This set works pretty well, but the pull bar bent on me and I had to straighten it out a couple of times. (You're right - I shouldn't have been hitting it that hard, but I had a couple of tough spots in the floor.) The bar has a couple of felt pads but IMHO not enough. I put the two pads under the end that catches the plank, and added another big one at the hammer end. MAKE SURE YOU ADD ENOUGH to protect your planks. The other parts are decent. The plastic tapping block is hard enough to damage the wood if you get too aggressive. (Better to use pull straps for the problem planks and resist hitting them.) I found the shims almost worthless as they are too thin for most applications. I needed a 1/4" perimeter gap, so I bought other, adjustable spacers that worked great. The hammer is a nice touch, and the two head give you some choices. I used the rubber side exclusively.

I use this laminate flooring installation kit regularly, and overall it’s a very solid set. The pull bar is the standout piece. It makes locking boards together in tight areas such as against walls or under door jambs much easier, and the added padding helps protect the flooring from damage during use. The tapping block is also well made and does its job without marring the edges of the planks when used correctly. Both of these pieces have held up well with frequent use and feel appropriate for repeated installations. The mallet works, but I would have liked to see a softer rubber side to complement the harder face. It’s not a deal breaker, but a dual-durometer mallet would make the kit more versatile. The spacer wedges are included, though I personally haven’t found much use for them compared to other spacing methods. Pros: Excellent pull bar for tight spaces Tapping block protects plank edges well Durable enough for frequent use Good overall value Cons: Mallet could benefit from a softer rubber face Spacer wedges may not be useful for everyone Overall, this is a reliable flooring installation kit, and I use it almost daily. If you’re installing laminate or similar floating floors, the pull bar and tapping block alone make this kit worth having.
