This slot dog was awesome. Very sharpe and worked super easy and good to get nice even cuts. Only thing to improve would be a cover for the blade that clicks on or stays on instead of a plastic one.

I really gave them a try. I was hyped up to get the nice pattern for those crispy edges on the grill. But thats not how it went at all nightmare purchase. Does it look cool yeah but using it thats another story. Not as smooth as I thought it was gonna be. I had to use my whole weight and lift my arms to really press down and make the marks. It ended up costing me more too. It doesn't work on regular small hot dogs from Walmart . The cutter goes right through them almost cuts them into small pieces. I had to buy bugger Winnies to be able to even press down and leave some marks. After making all those changes and having to use the strength of hulk it does do its job and looks nice. Its just not practical for me

What an improvement over a plain hotdog. By pressing indentations through the outer dog, you allow fat to escape and the smoke from your grill to penetrate. Best to use skinless franks, though -- recommend Costco's Kirkland Dinner Franks. Grilling not necessary - you can prepare any way you prefer, just use a good quality hotdog. Just press one side, flip the hotdog over, to the same to this side, Squeeze back to round, cook and enjoy.

Really makes your hotdog more interesting

I had low expectations for a device that purports to improve the simple hot dog, but I must admit to being pleasantly surprised by the results of using this item. The uniform slicing of the hot dog prior to cooking opens up the dog as it cooks so it cooks slightly faster but the big benefit is the many crispy cooked corners that result from the uniform pre slicing. I'm not going to tell you that the hot dogs taste vastly different, but the crispy corners are pleasant, condiments tend to be held within the grooves resulting in a pleasant distribution of flavours, and biting into the pre sliced hot dog is easier giving the sense of a more tender hot dog. A very long winded way of saying that I would recommend it.
