Excellent product!!!!! Well made high quality tether. The seatbelt end hooks directly into the female end of the seatbelt mechanism and firmly but gently holds my big girl safely in place. The end with the carabiner attaches to her harness at the "D" on the back of the harness. (I also have the Kurgo Harness, which is fantastic and very easy to adjust. I have a 45lb., 6 month old, Golden Retriever pup who is strong as an ox. It is easy to put on her. She doesn't seem to even notice it. She sits up on the seat looking out the window of my Smart Car. We do get a lot of funny looks......two blondes in a funky looking little car....oh well. I have several other Kurgo products and have to say, they are all equally, well made products, and it seems that they work together and have interchangeable parts for different uses. Easy peasy!! I will most certainly purchase more from this company.

On the day I adopted my second dog, she jumped into the front seat and put the car in reverse at a red light. We tried a couple other solutions, including attaching her harness to the belt part of the seat belt. They all ended in her becoming extremely tangled. I'm not particularly handy, but I was able to adjust and install this tether myself in about two minutes and has been a lifesaver (possibly literally). It has solved three problems: 1) It was easy to set it to the perfect length so she has some freedom in the backseat and can stick her head into the front to visit and reduce her anxiety by sniffing for a few seconds, but the bungee pulls her back when she tries to go much further so she's not just in my face while I'm driving. (And no more stoplight doggy gear changes!) 2) I had to brake HARD on the freeway last week and it did its job well in keeping her safe. I was so glad she was belted in. 3) She's a jump-out-as-soon-as-the-door-opens type of dog, so this tether gives me time to grab her leash and get my bearings before releasing her. Some bonuses: Molly is about 50 pounds and can pull hard, so this tether must be durable, because it still looks and works good as new after several months of use. Also, although my other dog has much better car behavior, the freeway incident made me realize I should be buckling in both dogs for safety. I love that I can just leave this tether installed and clip it to either of their harnesses with ease. One tiny difficulty is that sometimes the clip at the end of the tether gets a little turned and it has taken me up to a full sixty seconds to get it turned around to unclip it from the harness. But usually I can do it in about fifteen seconds.

This is great for our 7 month old Chesadoodle! He loves taking rides in the car but is too big to sit on our lap safely while driving. This gives him freedom to look out of the window safely.

I bought this a while back for my dog, who sometimes would spontaneously decide to join the driver in the front seat when he was unrestrained. This clips nicely to my dog's harness and is just long enough to let him traverse the backseat of the car and stick his snout out the window, or lay down on a longer journey, without getting into trouble, getting out of the window or getting into the front seat. We've had the same one for several years and it has held up well. Two things: Only ever use it with a harness (do not, for the love of all that may be holy, clip this to a collar); and DEFINITELY buy the seat belt receptacle cover made by the same company. Trust me! I bought just the tether, and lo and behold, my dog accidentally stepped on the buckle release and was loose in the backseat because of it. With the cover, the system works like a charm. Safer for you as the driver, safer for the dog.

Great quality, but prefer the bungee style. Even fully extended, this is a little short and has no give like the Kurgo tether with the bungee. We have the bungee style for our other dog and wish we would have ordered that type again.

This is a straightforward design that works perfectly to keep our 25 lb mini-Aussie pup safely in the backseat of our Subaru. A warning: My husband's much older Honda Civic has back seat belts that don't work with it—but the front seat belts do. But our dogs usually go in my Subaru Forester anyway, so not an issue for us. The length is easily adjusted. When we get another smaller dog, we'll be able to fit two in the back seat fairly easily. We use a padded harness for our little guy's park runs or café dog-people visits, so this tether is ideal to snap onto the harness. Our car is too small to hold a crate (the alternative many people use). It also prevents a pup escaping out the door before it's clipped onto its leash, and adds some delay to someone thinking to steal your puppy (unfortunate common occurrence for our area). The range of colors is a bonus!

I purchased this item last summer, and it was great for giving my dog some moving room while keeping him safe. Fast forward to last week, when I was rear ended at a high rate of speed on the expressway. My pup, who is 10 lbs and has a myriad of health conditions (IVDD, epilepsy, Chiari like malformation, syringomyelia, just to name a few) was harnessed in the back seat. The momentum caused his dog bed to be pushed under the passenger seat. My pup was harnessed and hanging off the back seat but due to his Kurgo belt being attached to his harness, he avoided hitting the back seat or the floor board. I 100% believe this saved his life. I took him to vet just in case and he checked out fine. I definitely recommend this item to any dog owner. You may use it 100s of times, but it's that one time that really counts.

Much shorter than I thought it would be - too short to use on my dog - I read the description and thought it would be suitable but it's not - also only works if you use on a harness as it's too short to put on a collar.

I love this product. You can honestly just just feel the quality in it. There's not much to say, it does everything you'd want it to and I feel like I could really trust this brand to deliver on any of their products based on the quality of this one. The only issue I have with it is that on it's shortest setting (about 40cm?) it's still pretty long. Esspecially for a smaller dog, this means they can move around quite a bit (e.g. off the seat down to the floor, across from one seat to the other).
