This rope leash fills the bill well. Very sturdy rope with a cushioned handle and a second cushioned handle at the right length for a traffic lead. The lead is long enough for a comfortable walk but not long enough for the dog to get a running start at pulling. The one minus is that the rubber covers protecting the places where the rope is joined - like the base of the handles - are not secured so they often slide up the rope exposing the joins. Doesn't affect the usability of the leash - just annoying.
