But this for the company these are great vacuums they last a very long time easy to work on.

Great vacuum. Same model used in numerous commercial applications. Very sturdy and power cord is heavy duty. Most vacuums come with roller brushes, but the Sanitaire comes with brushes and a "beater bar" that smacks the carpet and allows the brushes a better chance of cleaning debris from carpet fiber. I use in my basement area that is half workshop (concrete floor) and half carpet. I constantly drag saw dust from the workshop side to the carpet side. This vacuum is the only type designed well enough to dislodge and vacuum up saw dust in the carpet. Does a great job no matter where you use it at. Granite you have to remove and manually empty the vacuum bag (I use a dust mask when doing so), but the vacuum never needs replacement paper bags.

Suction power is very good. It is easy to maneuver and assembly was easy. The cord is a bit long for household use but easily changed due to the removable cord. I haven't had to dump the bag yet but will probably change to the disposable bag eventually. Since it isn't possible to stop the brush roller, it isn't meant for bare floors. Great for what it was intended for though. Just a good no-frills upright with a brush roller and good suction. Just what I wanted. I chose this one for the longer motor life. We have a commercial grade carpet with padding under it in our apartment and this vacuum lifts the carpet just like the Kirby used to. So it has great suction.

Amazing amazing amazing Suction power. Pulled crap out of the carpet I didn't know existed. Everything else is so so about it. Build quality feels flimsy especially at the handle. Yes it has some metal but that metal is attached to plastic which makes me thing that plastic ain't gonna last long. Ease of maintenence is awesome. Features suck but if you want a vacuum just to vacuum then you ain't gonna find better. It will make ur carpet cleaner then you ever had it. I will never buy a vacuum from wally world or target again. Just a word to the wise, do not empty the bag indoors unless you want a mess.

This is only my second time using this vacuum. I use it at home only. The bag is clean. The brushes stopped turning and I could smell burning. I had it on the next to the highest setting on normal cut pile carpet. I took it apart to check the belt and the metal shaft burned me badly. Nothing was stuck in the vacuum. I am a professional carpet cleaner. I own a carpet cleaning business and know how to use a vacuum properly. This is an expensive lesson. Very disappointed.

I have worked custodial services for years, this is the vacuum we always use. Easy to service and takes a lot of abuse. Bought a new one for home, had a household version of a Sanitaire for 20 years, but they are now discontinued. So I got the commercial one. Long cord is great, plug it in once and do the whole house. Practically sucks up the rugs. Very powerful. Nothing special just a strong, old school vacuum. It will do the job.
