Theory
This is definitely heavy on the theory side of things and unless you're very interested in the topic, it can make a difficult read in places.

Consider Intellectual Multiplicity
Though he still beleives in testing his view that there are all sorts of intellectual skills rather than a simple 'g' deserves a much wider consideration.

so many similar titles in this series -be aware that this volume does not actually contain the theory of multiple intelligences
There are so many similarly-titled titles in this series by Howard Gardner it is very hard to know which one of his books contains the information you are looking for. In my case, I actually wanted to read his theory of multiple intelligences, and to read about bodily/kinetic intelligence in particular. This book does not contain this information - instead it contains a reference to the fact that this information is contained in another, earlier volume. I had thought this was a revised and updated version of that book -- this is not so. Rather, THIS title seems to be a reflection by Gardner on Gardner's whole body of work so far - interesting for dyed-in-the-wool Gardner fans and those who have been following his train of thought over the decades but not at all useful as a reference volume for the fundamental theory itself. No good to me, so I just hope I can return it.

Inteligent reframing
In good shape. I loved the content. I'll purchase more of the same guy. Lots of tips for my job.

Gardner puts the record straight
As a secondary school teacher in the UK I spend much of my time wading through the maze of ideas circulating in the educational world that might allow me to improve my practice. As an idea that has been about for some while Multiple Intelligences cannot be ignored. This review by Howard Gardner of both the ideas and the way that they have been used and abused by educationalists was for me profound. I am now able to talk/think about the subject with some authority and armed with Gardner's first hand accounts I am able to use his ideas confidently in my classroom. For any teacher out there who has the feeling that there is probably something worth looking at in multiple intelligences but that to use the ideas slavishly in the over extended ways that they are commonly used will find this book illuminating and empowering. Educationlists; whether you buy it or not, I recommend that you read it.
