Great Gloves for Cold Weather Mountainbiking
Quick tip: Great insulation without a ton of bulk. These things keep my hands warm even in super cold weather and allow me to shift and break comfortably. The quality of construction is really good.Detailed Description: I like to wear gloves when mountain biking to protect my hands from brush and branches as well as for the very rare (or not so very rare) occasions when I fall. I don't like bulk to hinder my shifting, so I was wearing my full-finger summer gloves all year... but my fingers would get so cold that shifting became difficult anyway. So I decided to pull the trigger and try something with more protection.I am glad I did. These gloves keep my fingers warm no matter the temperature (In the midwest, winter riding weather can vary between 30f to 0f (0c to -18c) with wind chills taking another 15 degrees off). If the weather is above 35 or 40f, I will still wear my full finger, full fabric leather gloves. The velcro wrist straps keep the gloves secure and they are nice looking cycling gloves.Things I like about these gloves:* keep my hands warm!* can still shift and break without too much interference from the padding* good construction* attractive* I like the wrist velcro to anchor them and keep them secureThe only thing I don't like much:* plasticy feel of the palms of the gloves (exterior) - don't offer a lot of grip* no breathability - your hands will SWEAT in these things... though, they will not get coldI always appreciate good, honest reviews when I am shopping, so I try to return the favor with honest feedback on what I buy. Fantastic Winter Work Gloves
I work with baggage at an airport, which means long, cold hours over the winter. I decided to buy these gloves and one other pair of high quality winter gloves. These gloves were far better than the other pair I bought at half the price.Durability - 4 stars. These gloves lasted through 3 months of heavy usage completely fine, but just recently have started breaking down. I wore a hole through each middle finger, and the holes are bad enough to make the gloves nearly useless.Warmth - 4 stars. I have yet to in my life find a pair of gloves that actually keep my hands from going numb after long periods of cold exposure and gripping metal/bags. These gloves have been the warmest I've had, but I have definitely had my share of numb hands. Also, occasionally gloves manage to get damp (usually through hand sweat) and this can make them get very cold.Dexterity - 5 stars. This is what makes these gloves fantastic as work gloves. Most gloves make it so you can't even tie you shoes, but these gloves let you do just about anything with your hands without getting in the way, because of their thinness and grip.Other - Gloves said they would take almost a month to ship, then got here in about a week. I was happy about that.

Ladies need a pair!
I wish I could remember the amount of time it took for delivery. What I do know is these gloves were warm. I wore them on a run that one of my homegirls invited me to. It was called the Turkey Trot and it took place in downtown Detroit, MI. The temperature was 19° F, I don't know what the windchill was, the wind speed was 9 mph. When we left Cobo Hall to walk to the starting line, they said it would be 5 minutes before the 5K run started. I think it ended up being more like 10 minutes. My feet went numb from the ankles down, but my hands were ok. I was grateful to have these gloves on even though the Men's extra-small was a couple inches to big for my little girl hands. I instant-messaged Tenn Outdoors on Facebook and asked if they could make this exact same glove in ladies sizes. They suggested I try out their Protect and Wintex Gloves, but I can't find them on Amazon. I hope they make the All-Weather glove in girl sizes, because I can't get gloves from the UK. Besides the extra-long fingers, I loved these gloves!

Really warm gloves, also buy a size larger IMHO
These are great gloves for temperatures below 45ºF (10ºC). I bought these cause I need to bike to work really early in the morning. Lately temperatures were reaching the 30ºF (VERY rare where I live) and my normal gloves weren't cutting it, getting numb fingers constantly. These keep your hands VERY warm, that being said.... above 45º maybe above 50ºF my hands begin to sweat too much inside of these. They are very well insulated, thus very hard for your hands to breath. I have since stopped using them as temperatures have reach normalcy around here. Also buy once since larger than your normal wear unless you want a tight fit. I bought large and they are snug tight (maybe they are suppose to be that way, I don't know) but I feel very constricted with them on. Don't try to handle fragile items with them either, you can barely feel the item you are holding. In all, a very good buy, maybe if I visit a colder temperature place, these will do just fine to keep me warm there.

Good price.
Thank you to the other reviewers -- order a size up -- I happen to wear a medium in most things but the Large I purchased was appropriate.Today in 50 degree rain the gloves performed excellently. Check back because maybe later in the winter (2014-15) I will complare these versus the Gore bike wear I purchased last season (for 2x as much, I"ve also reviewed them) -- until then I suspect you are not getting much more cold and water resistance, comfort or anything else for the price.I will say when I read "waterproof" I naively thought more of good ol' rain versus snow and freezing temperatures -- these are much more insulation that I expected. I was hoping for a "lighter" glove that would even perform in the summer -- if there is such a thing. Overall, think more winter gove when purchasing this. The grips are good for the wet weather.
