My Baptism Book Hardcover – February 1, 2007

I purchased the expanded edition and I’m so happy I purchased this for a little child. My Baptism book is truly wonderful. Never mind giving away things that could last for a few months or so or even a day, this will last for years. And what a beautiful gift you would be giving, because as its title says, it’s about sharing to a child the knowledge of God’s love as a starting point of his/her faith.The book has subtitles:*Me. This section points to the child’s self in relation to God*My Baptism. It contains verses and excerpts from the bible, ending in prayer*A Child of God. More verses, Psalms, bible excerpts*God*Jesus*God’s Holy Spirit*BlessingsI love that it touches on Easter, alongside Christmas, which is actually the focal point of the Christian faith. You might want to purchase this edition because it’s bigger, and probably the letters look bolder than on the smaller book. Also, it comes with a baby blue ribbon marker. It’s a plus, too that the pages seem thicker than the average. The illustrations are very, very nice, very warm and appealing. But I’m afraid it does not appeal to the children I read to, they just take quick glances and listen more than look. I think D. Kolanovic could make it more interesting by making the beautiful colors a bit more intense, because the figures are a little too hard to figure out, they look hardly distinguishable and too blended out that they’re lost in the whole picture. The choice of colors and their combination are excellent, also gradation is very pure, but all too pale and blurry.In general, the book is beautiful, and for parents with children who are already baptized as babies, it’s never really too late to have this book, it will still serve nicely, and even more so with older children who can understand better with their present age.

We chose this book as a baptism gift for our goddaughter, and it turned out to be an adorable choice. Filled with delightful pictures and delivering a positive message about Jesus, it's a charming addition to a child's book collection. While the soft cover might be a concern for some, particularly if you prefer sturdier (less eatable) options, it's worth noting that for a newborn like our goddaughter, this wasn't an issue as she won’t be using it for a while anyway. As an adult, I found it to be a very cute and meaningful book with a positive message.

The book is a great read for a young reader who is getting baptized. It explains the importance of the occasion and is beautifully illustrated.

Gifted this to my godson. Love the prayers and art work. Overall quality of the book.

Has a ton of information for kids that they can learn about baptism and a great gift for any child or baby to have to remember their special day. Filled with great pictures and prayers.

Bought for my Grand daughters Baptism. Its an adorable little book with many simple but beautiful prayers & stories. There is a page to personalize it as a keepsake. I would absolutely buy it again! :-)

Great baptism gift

Ordered this as a gift for a babies baptism. Exactly as advertised. Great quality

I bought this for my six year old son, who was recently baptised. It's a lovely little book - I bought it with the Baptism 'cube' which I have also reviewed on here - and I would recommend it for anyone who knows a young child being Christened. It would be a delightful gift for a child who might be too young to understand the service, but they can look back on when they get older. For my son, it was a lovely gift that he could use to relate to the day, and then take into school and share with his classmates afterwards.

Bought this as part of a baptism gift along with the library set. Suc a beautiful book and so apt as a gift.

I bought this as a baptism gift for a little girl who is not from a church going family. It is a beautiful gift, with space to record details of Godparents and the special day. It has pretty illustrations and explains about Christianity in a simple and respectful way. It was recommended to me by a friend and I would also highly recommend it.

I am so happy to find this book just in time for my grandsons baptism.I know this book will be kept as a reminder of a the most special day in his life.Thank you.
