Solid crimping tool that works well and is worth the price
This is a solid crimping tool and absolutely worth the price. It feels sturdy in the hand and works far better than the old all-in-one stripper and crimper I used before. The ratcheting action makes each crimp consistent, and hearing the clicks as it tightens down gives you confidence that the terminal is fully secured. It is also more versatile than I expected. The markings on the jaws make it easy to choose the right size, and the tool handles different non-insulated terminals without slipping or deforming anything. I used it for replacing furnace terminals and every connection came out tight and clean. The instructions are simple but helpful, especially if you have never used a ratcheting crimper before. Just make sure the open ends of the terminal rest on the flat side of the jaws before closing. Once you get used to that, it becomes a quick one-hand process. For the price, the build quality, ease of use, and consistent results make this a strong value.

Nice Quality Crimper for 2.8mm Non-Insulated Open Barrel Connector Terminals
The Haisstronica Crimping Tool for Non-Insulated Open Barrel Terminals has several features that make it a quality tool. This specific model covers 10- through 20-gauge 2.8mm terminals. That size covers many of my applications, e.g., automotive and electronics. The jaws are replaceable, so the basic ratcheting pliers can be configured for different styles of terminals. The jaws are marked in square millimeters and AWG. On the side of the tool is a cogged wheel to adjust the clamping force. It is adjusted by removing a screw, rotating the wheel, and reinstalling the screw – a little inconvenient but it prevents inadvertent changes to the clamping force. The ratchet mechanism has a lever to open the pliers. The pliers will open automatically when the crimp is completed, but should the pliers remain closed, the lever can be tripped to release the jaws. The gap is small for an adult finger, but any sort of probe could be used to operate the release lever. The handles are well-made with good-sized, comfortable grips. Using the crimper is easy – strip the wire insulation back about 1/4 inch, insert the terminal into the crimper (flush on the left side with the tabs facing up) and squeeze enough to hold the terminal in the jaws, insert the wire into the terminal to the required depth, and squeeze the crimper handles until they release and the jaws open. A final inspection of the quality of the crimp is the final step. If the tabs on the terminal are nicely formed over the wire insulation and core, and the terminal passes a rudimentary pull-test, you have a quality terminal crimp. My first two crimps were just fine at the “factory” pressure setting. No need to mess with that adjustment. This is an excellent crimper, especially at the price -point. Good luck with your crimping.

The ratcheting mechanism feels smooth and secure, and the adjustable tension makes it easy to get just the right amount of pressure. Paired with heat shrink connectors, it creates strong, clean connections that look great and hold tight. The ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue, even after long use. This tool has quickly become one of my go-tos for electrical work, excellent quality at a great price!

Great Tool for a Hobbyist
Does a great job crimping and seems well made, I have wanted one for a while to use for car audio, The jaws switch out very easy and have a sturdy grip. There are two reasons I gave 4 stars, 1- sometimes the jaws get stuck if you close them 3/4 to hold the splice and insert the wire, you have to release and do a full pull. They may just need adjustment. 2- You have to reference the included paper to know what jaws to use, it would be nice if the case or jaw was labeled.

Really Good Tool. Don't Hesitate.
I just installed some new MSD 8.5 Super Conductor wires on my SBC, in my 55 Chevy. I'm a tool snob, and am picky about quality. I've done this job several times over the years, and like most guys, I used pliers, and the MSD plastic tool. Since I stepped up to the high end wires, I decided to get the proper tool. This tool works perfectly. It makes the job of terminating plug wires very easy. I was concerned about the quality level (vs the expensive brand name tool), but, I can't imagine any tool for this job doing any better. It's built with tight tolerances and heavy construction. I'm impressed.

Surprising!
I'll be honest. I am suspicious of Chinese-made tools. Far too often, they are cheaply made, poorly designed and break easily. But I have to give credit where it's due: this is a fantastic product. It is well thought-out, its construction quality is very high, it is smooth in its operation and the results it provides are absolutely top tier. I simply couldn't ask for better and it's at a very reasonable price. Thanks for this!

Make no mistake - it takes strength to crimp the connectors, but this tool does it right.
Does a really good job. Used it to attach 20 ga stranded wire to spade lug connectors. I wasn't prepared for how much strength it took to do the crimping, but the device is "ratcheted" so if you pause you can continue on until the crimp is done. I remember the cheap stamped crimping tools were easier to use, but when you compare the quality and ruggedness of the crimp, it's easy to see how much more robust this tool makes the attachment of the wire to the lug. One thing I noted - when you think you are all crimped, if the tool hasn't gone "over center" you're not done. By "over center" I mean that after applying a lot of force to close the jaws, the tool suddenly gets much easier to press and the handles come together completely. Up until that point you haven't finished the crimp. For verification, I used an ohmmeter to check the connection; not only are the lugs well attached to the wire with a little pull-test, they are electrically good as well. No one wants to be searching all over for a bad connection, or have one of the lugs come loose from the wire when you put a little strain on them. I haven't tried connecting larger wire so I can't say how much pressure would be required; the 16ga to 22ga part of the jaws is on the outermost part of the tool, so it may well require the most effort to use. So while I was surprised by the work it takes to use this tool, I have decided that is due to the thicker jaws making a broader crimp, compared to the cheap sheet-metal crimpers, resulting in a very good connection. For that I give the tool five stars.

Love this Crimper!
Bought: Haisstronica 6PCS Crimping Tool Set Ok, Like many of you I have been using those cheap thin metal striper/crimpers that come in every electrical "kit" you ever buy. You can also buy those in stores and are fairly inexpensive, sometimes downright cheap. And to use them to crimp anything means hurting your hand from the pressure and that crappy thin metal. On to this tool and set: I paid $54.99 for this item and at time of review some 10 months later it is $49.99. That seems excessive or expensive however you know the old saying, you get what you pay for. Here you get so much more. It this set you get the crimping tool and 6 sets of dies. It says 6ps because die A is installed on the tool during arrival. The case it comes in is fairly cheap plastic but is more than enough for what you need. However I think the snaps that close it are poor. They are the standard molded on snaps that come with most things that wear over time and break and since they are molded on you cannot replace them. That's really the only con to this set. I opted for this set and not the one that comes with a screw driver because who doesn't already have a screwdriver in their tool kit? Anyways, the Tool feels great in the hand is VERY confrontable. The handle is molded plastic with rubber grips. Crimping pressure (how far down it crimps) is adjustable. The crimper uses a ratchet method so you don't accidently slip. This also lets you increase hand pressure a little at a time which is wonderful. When you hit the full crimp pressure the tool automatically unlocks releasing pressure. If in the event you cannot get full pressure to release there is a bar latch in-between the handles you can use to release the ratchet tension. The dies that it comes with are very wide for an even and professional crimp every time. Those cheap crimpers you get other places only crimp in a tiny spot which means sometimes you have to crimp then connector twice or more! Not with this tool, once and done! Changing dies is extremely easy. Just use a Philipps head screwdriver to remove two screws, one on the top die and one on the bottom. then change dies and replace screws. in the event you lose a screw, this set comes with two EXTRA screws! How awesome is that? This set also comes with almost every die you will need. I mostly use Insulated connecters so I mainly use die A but sometimes use others. I thought I'd never use the Solar connector Die but just recently actually used it and it worked wonderfully! Incase you forget what die is used for what, this little kit comes with a card with pictures of every die and the types of connecters each die is used for and wire sizes. that is EXTREAMLY helpful. The dies are each labeled A,B,C, ext. Also the case which holds the dies is also labeled in each slot for A,B,C, ext. So there is no confusing where each die goes or what they are used for. In conclusion, this set is well worth the money paid for it and is extremely helpful and comfortable to use. Not only that but it gives a good solid professional crimp every time. I have used this set hundreds of times. I have also installed 2 stereos in 2 different cars using this set and it was such a great tool to use. It not only made the job easier but it also made the job more solid and reliable. So please do yourself a favor and get this set, you will not regret it!
