Great performing laptop
It has been almost a year since I started using this laptop. This laptop is great in terms of performance, most FPS games has a performance above 100 fps. However, one thing that might be irritating to most people is that fans. The fans are pretty loud. The laptop can also get heated, but it is workable. Other than that laptop is great for anyone looking to game or do any other professional work. Btw laptop doesn't have a cam for anyone looking to do online meetings.

Good performance but RUNS VERY HOT
I bought this laptop for Uni work (Being an engineering student, I need POWER), gaming and just day-to-day streaming things like YouTube, Netflix etc. It arrived on time, the unboxing experience was lovely; all very well designed and packed. It was all going so well until I booted it for the very first time...Pros:- Form factor is lovely. It is thin, light and the lid is made of brushed aluminium which looks and feels quality.- Screen: 144Hz screen makes anything from gaming to web browsing feel so much smoother. Colouring is good, but i have seen better.- Battery life: for a gaming laptop, 8 hours battery life is almost unheard of in this price area. Stick it in to power saving mode and boom 7-8 hours. Don't expect to be gaming for 8 hours on the battery though (obviously).- CPU performance: good for gaming as it boosts up to 3.7GHz for me, however the cooling... yikes (I will talk about that in a bit). Cinebench score was 1527. Not exactly stellar but a good performance for a laptop chip (my old I7 6700HQ chip still runs faster than this!!).- SSD: This is the fastest SSD I have ever had the pleasure of using. It makes day to day usage, like saving word documents, opening programs and loading games a very pleasant experience. Super dooper fast. CrystalDiskMark speeds were around 1300MB/s sequential read, 1000MB/s sequential write, and 350MB/s 4k read, 775MB/s 4k write.I/O: Standard HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0, 1 USB C, Gigabit Ethernet & a kensington lock. Pretty standard, but better than a lot of the other slim form factor laptops about (Apple, cough cough).- Wifi seems ok, but if you need a very fast connection, i encourage you to buy an external adaptor or use an ethernet port.Cons:- CPU cooling: This thing sounds like an aeroplane when 'turbo mode' engages. When I am gaming, it runs to almost 100 degrees Celsius which is so bad for the CPU's health, especially in the long run. At these operating temperatures, you'll be lucky if it lasts 2 years. Be aware that at this temperature, the CPU will start thermal throttling which diminishes your FPS. I looked into undervolting to try and reduce operating temps but ohhh no, AMD have decided that you're not allowed to undervolt mobile Ryzen CPUs. There's literally no way to do it. Your best shot is to either set a TDP limit (This is rated at 30W so anything under that) or to disable 'aggressive' turbo boosting. If that fails, try to apply new thermal paste and check for dust in the heat pipes.- GPU Power: This 1660 Ti is only a 60W QMax design of the card. Don't expect performance like the desktop cards as it is way too underpowered (to avoid more overheating I expect)-Idle temperatures range from 50-70 degrees C. I have no idea why ASUS thought it was a good idea to make a CPU operate at these temps at idle. My legs are sweating when I'm only browsing Amazon or Facebook and the only way I can improve this is to turn the fans up which sound as if it is about to take flight, as I mentioned previously. I guess you have to choose between sweaty legs or damaged hearing.- Speakers are mediocre, with a down-firing mechanism which allows the speakers to reach lower frequencies to make for a warmer sound, but that sacrifices loudness and quality really.- No camera: this is a customer preference. If you use cameras for Zoom, etc then you'll want to look into getting an external one. There are onboard microphones though. If you don't use cameras regularly like me, then you wont be too bothered. This also has the added bonus of preventing your FBI agent from spying on you...- Coil Whine. If you're old, then you'll probably not notice. However with young(ish) ears like mine, there is a very annoying high pitch (15kHz-20kHz) sound which I think is caused by coils in the GPU. It comes and goes, but man it hurts your ears after a while. It varies from model to model, so don't expect it to be as bad as mine, but know you are running the risk of receiving a model with that issue.- Power supply: Power brick is pretty big. Not an issue for me, but it may be for some people.Summary:This laptop is very good for the price: it's GPU and CPU speed is very good and the screen, in my experience, is amazing. It is light and well build so it's easy to move about. However if you plan to use this for heavy gaming, be prepared for a lot of noise, and a lot of heat, and a reduced service lifetime. My housemates can hear the fans through the ceiling. Also be aware that the hotter the computer gets for sustained periods of time, the worse your battery life will get over time, since heat impacts battery performance hugely.I hope this review helped, and happy shopping!

Not as Stated
I had to send this item back as although a very nice computer it did not come with the processor stated, in the settings it says 3750 however it is advertised as 4800.I’ve sent it back for a full refund but it can take up to a month to get it back and as being a uni student I am now without a computer or money. I hope it doesn’t take very long...

PERFECT FOR PLAYING FARMVILLE 2
Perhaps some will scorn but there it is: I bought this laptop to play Farmville 2 and it is a DREAM. I don't care about all the technical niceties that some go into - this laptop is FAST & FURIOUS and I have already forgotten the endless hours I spent cursing my old laptop for the endless crashing and freezing. Well done ASUS.

Nice look
I was expected more Power.

The fans rattled after 34 days of light use.
The fans are not lubricated properly and therefore the fans rattle during low speed.
