Miracle Care Kwik Stop Styptic Powder for Dogs, Cats and Birds, 0.5 Ounce, Fast Acting Blood Stop Powder with Pain Relieving Benzocaine

I always have Miracle Care Kwik Stop ready to use when I clip my dog's nails. I am very careful and try to judge by the color of the nail, but once in a while I just get too close and it bleeds. Just dip a wet q-tip in the powder and apply to the nail for a few minutes and the bleeding stops. I try to file the nails before they get too long. My little dog doesn't mind and is very at ease. The quality is great and works fast. The size is just right and I just scoop a little on a piece of wax paper.

Great to have on hand when trimming dog claws. Works fast and effective to stop bleeding if you cut the quick of the claw. We have 2 German Shepherd Dogs and they tend to pull their paws away when trimming their claws....these occasionally leads to a mis-cut. This styptic powder product is highly effective and fast to get the bleeding to clot. A pinch pressed against the cut tip of the claw with a few seconds of pressure to keep it in place is all that is needed for it to form a clot. We have had the same container for the past 4 years and pull it out at the ready every time we trim claws, just in case. The only issue we have with this product is the lid does not stay on very well. We solved that issue by placing a large square of saran wrap over the top before replacing the lid....it gets stored in a small ziplock bag along with the claw clippers and has not leaked once in the 4 years we have had it. I would definitely buy again to replenish if/when we run out.

Works great, recommended to us by our vet! I used to be so scared about clipping my dogs nails because if he started bleeding all I could do was hold pressure with a paper towel. But then our vet told me about this and it’s been a total game changer!

My dogs nails are black so even though I try really hard not to, I need to use this often cause I nick his quick. (I even do the cutting off teeny tiny slices until I see the small black hole trick). This styptic powder immediately works to stop the bleeding, it’s definitely very effective. The amount in the package is generous— it will probably outlive me, let alone my dog. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 simply because the powder format is fiddly to get on a dog’s nails. I wish I had gotten the pre-soaked pads instead of the powder.

Have not had to use this yet. Highly recommended by vets . It's said to have on hand in case you cut them while trimming nails.

I got four dogs. I gotta trim their nails and sometimes I go a little bit far and they bleed. I didn’t notice that the vets office they had this stuff that kept them from bleeding so bad. I bought this, hoping it was the right stuff and yes, it is. It stopped. The bleeding works perfect perfectly.

I know others have said how little comes in the bottle, but a little goes a long way! Unfortunately, I know it works absolutely as expected because two dogs in my last two months have been quicked (ugh!). Used as directed, both lil' bleeds were taken care of in under a minute, and grooming commenced. ((Works MUCH better than the ol' wives method of corn-starch -- ask me how I know))

I got this after a couple of “bloody” incidents while clipping my dog’s nails. It does exactly what it says - just a small amount is enough to stop the bleeding. I do wish I’d get better at clipping her nails so I wouldn’t need to use this, but it feels great knowing I have it on hand for peace of mind.
