This set was AWESOME. I was skeptical, due to the negative reviews, but I went ahead and ordered this set. I understood what the negative reviews were going into the assembly. I realized if you follow the directions to the tee, and ensure that all the pieces fit together tightly, there is no issues. It does secure to the baseplate so it is not thar difficult to move from place to place if you are careful. For it not to be the big brand it is well constructed. For the price, it is a bargain. I will most definitely use this company again. So if your up for the challenge and dont want to spend an arm and a leg. You WILL be satisfied with the end result, just be patient and follow the instructions. Also it is a lot easier to get a sorting tray to sort all the pieces prior to starting it. What I did is put all the two by too flats together prior to starting the build. It made it a lot easier, it is a bit repetitive, but we'll worth it!

Instructions are incomprehensible. I got it because it cost way less than the Lego version, which is ridiculous, but you get what you pay for. If I could send it back, I would. If you miss a step anytime in the process of building it, you can't go back. My 16-year-old son builds the most complex Lego sets out there but said this was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER to put together. He was helping my 12-year-old build it for a school project and we were only able to get halfway through it in 6 hours. We gave up and my middle schooler will receive a bad grade as a result.

Great set, fun to build, great value, and I even learned some things about the Colosseum thanks to the booklet :-)
