What's diameter of thin discs (for phone), thick disc (for dash), and dimensions of unit itself (ht, and diameter of both round ends)?

The diameter is 38mms for both thick and thin discs. Both of the mount's round end equal to 40mms. Height is 8.25cm or 3.25in allowing our mount superior rotation/adjustability for your device compared to any other mount on the market.

I've noticed that many of the magnetic holders will not hold with otter box cases. will this one work with otter box?

Yes it can, as mentioned you can place it on the outside back of the case. Do not place it between the case and phone as this will weaken the hold due to the thickness of the otter box case. With standard phone cases you will have 0 issues whether inside or outside the case.

Does the adhesive melt in a hot car? Will the thick magnet come off the dashboard when the car gets hot in the sun?

First off, I live in Central Florida so it gets hot here. I wouldn't say it melts necessarily, but it will come loose and whatever is attached (let's say your phone) will start drooping, and will eventually fall off clutch-it and all. This can be fixed, however, with double sided gorilla tape. The only drawback is it's not round, so it doesn't fit perfectly within the metal plate. But it does work well. With this fix, I really like the clutch-it, even with it's stiff joints. Hope this helps!
