I purchased these scissors for sewing after someone in my house, who will not admit it to the atrocity, used my last sewing scissors to cut metal wire! So with those scissors being totally ruined or cutting fabric (they are still sharp and still cut other things, just not fabric) I had to purchase a new pair. I selected these because the brand has a great reputation (my previous scissors were Fiskars and even though they were used to cut metal wire they have remained sharp and functional) and because they have a razor sharp edge (very important to me for cutting various types of fabric). These scissors live up to their reputation. They are razor sharp - I am able to cut through leather for a moto jacket I am designing and then through silk for the moto jacket lining without any catching or pulling. They have stayed sharp after a lot of use and through various fabrics. The have an ergonomic handle and do not hurt my hands while trying to cut through tough fabric like leather and wool. In fact, they are so sharp that I did not have to apply as much pressure while cutting through heavy wool as you would normally with other scissors. I have since put a warning label on these scissors for my family members to Stay AWAY. I highly recommend these scissors as they are great quality and very affordable.

I'm going to buy another pair to keep around the house after using it for a year or two. Would definitely recommend them.

I do a lot of sewing and quilting and require quality scissors. My others scissors had seen better days so I purchased this pair. They are wonderful! Feel great in your hand and extremely sharp to get great cutting of fabric. Perfect size and not too heavy or bulky but very sturdy. Fiskers have always been known for quality products and this is no exception! Great quality and price!

These scissors are fairly large and heavy duty. The blades are thick, strong & sharp. The metal appears to be of high quality. The handles are made of plastic, yet they are very strong. I tested the cutting ability on 3 or 4 different materials and these scissors cut like....well, you know. The finger holes are large enough for someone with large hands. But, I did make one observation which I think is rather important. The finger holes are just a little too close together to allow for real power cutting. If the finger holes were perhaps another 1 inch farther apart, you would be able to get a stronger grip on the handles which would translate to more cutting power. People with small hands would still be able to grasp the handles just fine. In spite of my gripe, these are excellent scissors for cutting thick material such as canvas, leather, denim and light cardboard. And there's no reason why couldn't use them for light duty work such as cutting coupons, etc.

First off let me say that I am not left handed. If I was i would probably dock a star for design specifically for right handed people. My review is written in right handed bias according to my own experience. I bought these scissors in hopes of finding a pair of scissors that can be put through the test of time and come out on top. Here I am 5 years and 3 stitches later later writing this review. I use these most to cut paracord, but I've used them for everything from delicately cutting organic cotton in my RDA vaping days to cutting zip ties and cardboard boxes. These scissors do not miss. They do not fold what you're trying to cut between the blades. Clam shell packaging does not stop them, hard plastic does not stop them, fingers do not stop them from cutting and obtaining your objective. Yes, I cut my pinky finger one time a few years ago with these and that was enough to learn exactly how sharp they are and that doctors have a good sense of humor when you come to the emergency room for a cut from scissors. "Hide the scissors from him. Don't let him handle sharp objects." In hindsight I would have much rather just put a band-aid on it, but my wife is a nurse and coerced me to go to the E.R. I have never had issues in my 5 years of using these closing or opening the scissors. They have a satisfying glide to them. I also clean them on a regular basis from sticky gunk build up from tape residue and other sticky substances. I just hope they hold up for another 5 years. These were well worth the money and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for scissors that last.

These have to be some of the very best scissors I have ever owned. I bought these in June 2012, and now in Feb. 2015, after lots of use, they are still very sharp, but the blades are getting loose. This causes materials like the plastic wrapped on some foods to just bind and not be cut, as it slips between the blades. I had already decided to replace them, so donated them to "science", and decided to try to discover if their is a hidden screw inside for blade tension. There is. If you hold the scissors pointing away from you, the Philips screw head will be on your left, under the orange plastic button they pressed in. I wasn't able to pry out this plug on either side, so I found I could use a 1/16 drill bit to determine, starting on the right side, that it was the tail end of a screw. Back on the left side, I "chain drilled" a circle of little holes around the perimeter of the plug, and was then able to pry it out. The screw head is larger than I expected, and so it is very easy to take a standard #2 Philips driver and get the precise amount of rotation of the screw to set the tension right where you want it on the scissors. I won't have to replace mine now. :) If desired, one could cover the screw head again with some kind of round sticker, a piece of tape punched or cut into a circle, etc. I'm sure I'll get many more years of use from these fine scissors.

Best fabric scissors I have ever owned. Cuts in straight path easily, clean cut! You can tell, these scissors are very high quality, keep forever type scissor. My “go to” scissors when I cut fabric.

Chose the scissors based on previous reviews on Amazon. Wasn't disappointed, great, comfortable to use, and very good sharp scissors. Delivery was delayed, but worth the wait. Would recommend.

These are some excellent scissors. They come with a very sharp edge and have held their edge well even when cutting a lot of cardboard. The grips are reasonably comfortable, though as with all things in depends on the size of your hand and personal preference. It's a bit more expensive than cheap scissors, but the performance is well worth it.
