Perfect...
I looked at a lot of different bike lights and read a lot of different reviews. There are so many to choose from it can be overwhelming. And it seemed like you could always find lights with great reviews, yet had several other reviews that completely hated it. Confusing... What I noted though, was that the majority of negative reviews were due to the mounting system of the light, and it either falling off or coming loose. This light had all positive reviews so I decided ro give this a try... so happy I did. The mounting system is where this thing really shines... well in addition to the really bright LEDs. It has this unique zip tie like system that will mount to any bike frame. No tools are required whatsoever, you simply hand turn the hardware until it's nice and tight on your bike in the desired location. It makes the lights extremely tight and secure. They won't go anywhere. I've jumped my bikes off curbs and everything else and these don't move. Where I live it's county law to ride with lights at night, and you pretty much have to anyway because people drive insane. These lights are ultra lightweight and extremely bright. People see me clearly now, slow down, avoid me, and even give me the right away when appropriate. The headlight has a flashing and regular on mode. And the The tail light has a flashing, sporadic flashing, and on mode. You just hold the button down to turn them off. The headlight turns on with a quick button push, and you have to hold the tail light to turn it on. Both remember which mode you had it in when you turned it off, when turning it on. They also both have a quick release button on the brackets. The tail light comes with a clip so you can mount it to yourself, belt, backpack or whatever. With the quick release you can easily change batteries (haven't had to yet so can't comment on battery life), use the tail light for safety, or the headlight as a flashlight. These things are fantastic and I'm very happy with the purchase. They did everything I wanted them to and with ease, and for a great price. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Classic High Quality Lights
High quality lights. Simple and effective. Not the best in the market but definitely power efficient. I like them cause I can use rechargeable batteries with them. I kept the batteries separate. When I need to use it, I placed the batteries in. Cateye has been around since like 40 years ago.

Bright enough for traffic, not bright enough for dark paths.
First off the light is only $18.00 so I didn't expect a super bright incredible light. However the light did impress me. Here's 2 things that I love about the light. 1.) It's extremely well made and the perfect size for your handlebar. It's not to heavy and it totally fits in your pocket. 2.) It is pretty darn bright light. However if your on a really dark path with NO lights along the path it still does pretty good job. Overall it's a fantastic light for the money. The light holds up to lights twice the price and like I said it's bright and great for city riding. The ONLY somewhat negative thing is the clip to remove it from the handlebar holder is underneath the light on the front and it's a little tricky to get to but not impossible. I definitely recommend it to anyone doing night riding.

Bright, effective, reliable.
I am a college student and I ride my bike all over campus everyday -- to get to and from class, the dining halls, the library, etc. During exam weeks, I find myself at the library until way after dark, which means I have to bike home in the dark. I'd prefer not to get ran over or hit by a car, and these lights absolutely do the trick. They are plenty bright and both have multiple blinking/flashing patterns. I didn't expect the headlight to put out much light to help with my visibility--only to help keep me visible to the cars on the road. To my surprise, the headlight puts out more than enough light to clearly see around 50+ feet of the road in front of me. Both lights easily detach from their mounts that secure on the bike, so I can quickly take them off when its light outside and put them in my saddle bag, then throw them right back on when it starts getting dark. I looked at many different lights before buying these ones, and the main thing that made me choose these over other brands/models is that these take simple AA and AAA batteries. Other lights required recharging every few days, which, to me, equates to being unreliable. Plus, who knows how long a re-chargeable battery REALLY lasts? And what do you do when it won't hold a charge anymore? I have had the original batteries in these since I got them over 3 months ago, and they are still just as bright as when they were unboxed. I'm sure that they will slowly start dimming as the batteries die out, which makes it easy to know when you'll need to replace them. Great product, unbelievable value. Highly recommended.

Excellent lights for the money - they feel expensive but they are not! Very bright. There is an strong clip in the pack which means you can clip the tail light onto a rucksack or wedgie bag easily. Buy a set.
