Review: Restoring New Life To An Old Jacket - I'm VERY HAPPY with this product. I have a very high-quality but very old leather jacket - about 25 years old! Over time the leather has become very dried out and developed a couple of small tears - about 1/2 inch long. Also there were a couple of pocket flaps made of two layers of leather sewn together,and they were coming apart where sewn together. Sad to say, because of it's ratty condition, I retired this jacket years ago and was going to throw it in the trash several times.......but I just couldn't do it. It was just so much heavier and better than the "fashion" leather jackets commonly found today. So I finally decided to try a repair! I purchased some Tandy Leather Weld from desertcart along with an assortment of random leather scraps in various colors. Luckily a couple of the leather scrap pieces were exactly the same color as my brown jacket. I opened the pocket flap seams and spread Leather Weld in the gap, then clamped the seam together with a couple of those spring clips from the stationery store, I also cut small, maybe 3/4" square, pieces of the leather scraps, stuffed a cut piece in each of the tears using the eraser end of a pencil, stuck the nozzle of the Leather Weld bottle in the hole and spread some of the glue inside, then pressed the repair together. I did the same thing where a seam where the sleeve joined the body of the jacket. Any ofthe Leather Weld that squeezed out of any of the repairs wiped off easily with a damp paper towel. So far the repairs are holding. I've now purchased a bottle of leather conditioner to see if I can't waterproof it and restore some of the dried-out oils that are missing.

**Q: I am wanting to attach an old watch face to a leather keychain as a sentimental gift. Would this allow for the leather to stick to those surfaces?**
A: I would not recommend what you suggest. This adhesive needs to be absorbed into a porous material like leather to adhere. Metals, glass and many plastics are not porous enough to get good adhesion. A urethane adhesive like gorilla glue would be a better choice.

**Q: Is it flexible? I need to glue snakeskin back to fabric on the shoe in the bend area. Will it crack?**
A: It should remain quite flexible in thin sections such as your snakeskin. Make certain the area to be glued is clean and dry and wipe off any excess glue.

**Q: can I use this product to attach a diabetic alert patch to a small leather gun carry bag?**
A: Assuming the patch is cloth, I don't see why not.

**Q: How does this compare to aleene's leather & suede glue? i need to glue two pieces of leather together**
A: I have not used Aleene's leather and suede glue but the Eco Leather Weld Adhesive worked great on my relatively thin leather jacket.  I had about a 4" tear and you can hardly tell it was there.  It has been through a number of rain storms and there are no signs of it failing.  I hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The BEST Leather Glue!!

No smell, super strong bonding power, eco friendly!! Being new to leather work, I did a thorough search for the best leather glue. I only wanted to buy 1: do it right the 1st time. The findings came down to this product and Barge's which my leather vendor in the fashion district uses. Barges comes in a huge pot and smells really strong. This product was the alternative, and it had great reviews from leather forums (the experts & serious crafters), small quantity, no smell, and eco friendly. It was a no brainer. It works great!!! "When you have a hammer everything looks like a nail." Well, let's just say I've not only made a bunch of great leather items but I've repaired 3 pairs of shoes including friends'. I've even glued back tiny metal studs on heels. Works absolutely great!! I tried it first on a test piece of leather. After clamping and drying for 24hrs, when I tried peeling the 2 pieces apart, it would tear the leather before it would come apart, so this stuff is great! 10/10 Would recommend. 10/10 Would but again.
