Review: Great deal! - I wasn't really looking for any lanterns on desertcart, but when I came across 2 for 15 bucks I couldn't pass it up. These things could easily be sold elsewhere for 20 bucks a piece. They look like they're made of machined aluminum in the photos, but they're actually made of a durable plastic. They're very lightweight and small. WAY smaller than other lanterns that produce the same output with standard bulbs. There are a total of 30 LED's, 3 sides with 10 each in a triangular pattern. The lighting output is sufficient, it won't blow you away, but it is definitely bright enough to illuminate a tent or picnic table. You could even use it for navigating on foot due to its size. The light collapses down into the body, and when you want to turn it on you pop it up. There is no switch, it turns on automatically. The lights turn on at about 1/4" of lifting it up. The movement is very smooth and fluid. There is just enough friction so that it is easy to pull up, yet not to little as to let it come up on its own and turn on if it were upside down. I should note that there is no digital function to change the brightness. However, you could easily do this by collapsing the light a little bit so some or most of the LED's are inside the body. Of course, it won't save any power doing it this way though. The handles are made of stainless steel and do exactly what they're supposed to. It is worth mentioning that the handles do not hinder the movement of the mechanism even when they are in their collapsed position. The lantern takes 3 AA batteries. I like this feature a lot because I am used to having big bulky lanterns that use D or C batteries for camping. AA batteries are much smaller and more common, plus I can use rechargeable ones which is nice. The battery compartment is housed at the bottom and is accessed by unscrewing a lid. This is an advantage over a traditional clipping cover that other products use that pop off and get lost easily. My only complaint is that I would have preferred a single handle that was centered rather than two handles on either end. This is just because I think two is over kill. Other than that, I can only say good things about these lanterns. If you're even considering buying them, just do it, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Divine LEDs!
Review: Is it a Lantern or a Lighthouse? Very bright! Edited 4-6-16 - I just received my lanterns in the mail today. Instructions are easy. Insert 3 AA batteries. To turn on - lift up the top. To turn off - push down the top. No on/off switch or button to search for. You can determine the amount of light by how high you pull up the top of the lantern. The handles are easy to lift up, plus there is a wire loop on the top for hanging. Obviously I cannot speak to how long the lantern will work on one set of batteries, nor how it works on a camping trip. I did turn out the light in the kitchen and turned on the lantern and I was pleased with the amount of light. I will state that I did *not* purchase these lanterns to be used in outdoor and rugged conditions. They would probably work fine. I purchased these lanterns for home use in power outages, and as part of my emergency/disaster preparedness supply. Living in a rural area, we frequently experience power outages due to extreme weather conditions, especially high winds, lightning, etc. More often than not, we lose power because a DUI driver has hit a power pole and knocked out power for an entire community. It is necessary to have a light source that is dependable and provides sufficient light until power is restored. The brightness of this lantern is sufficient for my needs. I do have two Eddie Bauer small lanterns that I have been using when there is a power outage. They have worked just fine. These Divine LED Lanterns are even brighter and is a great addition to my emergency light supply. As with any product, your mileage may vary. I reserve the right to edit this review after I have used these lanterns over a long period of time. But for now - they rock! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edited to Add - 4-6-16 What great timing to have purchased these lanterns. Friday we had a scheduled power outage for maintenance. Not a problem, it was during the daytime. However, the next day (Saturday), there was an *unscheduled* power outage from 7:45 am until 3:00 a.m. the next morning. By the time it started getting dark, I realized I better put some batteries in the lanterns and turn them on.. Oh, my goodness! These lanterns put out more light than I am used to having on in the house at night, unless I am working in the kitchen. So I actually didn't even need to have them fully extended. There are no street lights in the rural area where I live, so it does get pitch black dark unless there is a full moon. The next time these go on sale, I plan on buying another set. I am very pleased with these lanterns.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it come with batteries?**
A: Yes. I bought this in May, 2019. It came with 6 batteries.

**Q: Are these product made in China?**
A: Apparently so. I ordered mine Jan 2, 2017 and they are shipping from China. Estimated delivery Jan 23 - Feb 13. Doesn't quite fit with Primes 2 day shipping "guarantee"! Update: Received on Jan. 17. Works as advertised. I'm satisfied.

**Q: is there a on off switch**
A: No, there's no switch on the lanterns. You simply need to pull the top up to turn the lights on and push it back down to turn the lights off.

**Q: How many lumens does one lamp have?**
A: The advertisement states "Equipped with 30 crazy bright leds, this compact lantern cuts through 360 degrees of darkness on the stormiest, dimmest nights."

"Crazy bright" is not an official measurement, however, advert indicates 140 lumens. For reference; a standard incandescent 120V/60W light bulb is rated at 850 lumens. This is not a calibration standard, but will provide a means of comparison (minus the difference in color temperature).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hurricane Irma Sucked!! These Lanterns Don't!!!!
*by J***R on September 14, 2017*

I bought 2 of the 2 pack Vont Lanterns to prepare for not having power after Hurricane Irma. Thank goodness I ordered them, they worked great and wow are they bright! We lost power early Saturday morning and used these lanterns at night. For our use, the key was placement in the house to get the best light. We placed one on top of a 6 foot bookshelf in the corner and the other one at the opposite side of the room on top of the kitchen cabinet. This was the best way for us to light up 2 rooms using only 2 lanterns. We also really liked that you can slowly slide the opening and get only a little bit of light. The lanterns only use 3 AA batteries and to install them is super easy, just unscrew the bottom and voila. After we got our power back on, we let our friends that still didn't have power use them. Their house was still shuttered up so these lanterns came in real handy for them. We are also getting ready to send our lanterns down to Marathon, we have friends there. So, as you can see, these lanterns are getting used a lot. I will be buying more, you never know when you can use them and they are so cheap but certainly not made cheap! Thank you for making these lanterns!!
